i was thinking about this at work last night, because thats where i always come up with weird shit....remember when toys r us would have that toy run every year where the kid got like 5 minutes to run through the store and grab whatever he could. i always tried to win that contest. i would go to the toys r us and map out where i would start and what i would get...of course i never won. but thinking back on it, what would i have done with all those toys?

yes i was heading right towards the electronics first thing and just doing a whole arm sweep off the shelves, quickest way to get shit done.

I remember this. What was the entry for the contest?

Didn't it have to do with cereal contest. No purchase necessary "just mail a 3X5 index card" with name, address and phone number to be eligible to win. I never won. Did they ever post whoever won those contest or was this a cereal scam for us kids to buy more cereal?

On an unrelated note, advertisers just announced that fetuses are now the most coveted demographic.

I won this thing once. On my way to the Nintendo games I was mesmerized by a huge plastic replica of Geffory the giraffe. I ended up with Koosh ball, a copy of Monopoly and a pack of Topps.

Fuckin' hypnotic ad campaign. Mystical Giraffe BE DAMNED! You have VEXED ME!

What ever happened to Geoffery's parent's anyway? I remember they used to show him and his parents in the early ToysRus commercials waving infront of the stores. Now it's only Geoffery. Hmmm....I wonder.

F that. What happened to Geoffrey himself? He used to be a cartoon. Now hes just a real giraffe that talks. It's like they're aging the icon of a store with all of the people who grew up with the cartoon. First he loses his parents, then he just gets older and stuff, and now he's REAL. Instead of kids just having fun seeing a cartoon on tv trying to sell them toys, they just see a real giraffe talking. You see, this is why there are so many stupid kids these days. You ruin their brains early on in life and fill it with crazy shit like talking giraffes, and they're dumb for life.

i always wondered if they would have to grab the seperate tickets for the electronics stuff or would they have to go behind that big counter that stores all the games.

Was it whatever you could fit in your cart you keep or the most stuff you can get to the place inwhich you started in the time span they give you??

If it was the latter i would have sent all the best bikes on ghost rides to the finish line and then get to the electronics area and do an arm sweep.

I think it was the latter cuz they used to have the kids fill up one cart, push it across the finish line and then get another cart to get more stuff.

I used to always dream about getting a chance to be in that contest, but the dreams were usually nightmares where I was always stuck in the Barbie aisle and all the kick-ass toys were too far away for me to get to. I had a pretty f'ed up childhood...
