For all those of you who doubted me last Friday (you know who you are), meanwhile I am proven right. I was listening to Rush Limbaugh at the top of the 1:00 pm hour this afternoon. He said the same thing that I was saying. I cannot quote him verbatim, but he said that they are asking us to conserve, but there is no way we can conserve to the point that would make any difference.

He also said words to the effect that we are in the United States of America, it is not a sin to Use electricity, we should be able to use as much as we want, we are nowhere near a level of panic, we have many many resources that are tapped and many more that have never been tapped.

And now, as I predicted, allofasudden we go from zero problem to mucha problem. Everything was fine for years and years, now - surprise - it will cost $50 billion to fix the electricity problem. And we all will be forced to pay for this!

Something that was working Just Fine a minute ago, is now in such bad shape that it will take billions to fix it!

Here is a small portion of an article: US consumers were warned on Sunday they would bear the brunt of the cost of updating the nation's power grid - put by some observers at up to $50bn - following the biggest power failure ever to hit North America.

As investigators struggled to establish the chain of events that led to the power cut that affected 50m people in the US and Canada, there were calls for the US to increase investment. Spencer Abraham, US energy secretary, said utility companies would pay some of the cost of improving the system, but much of it would have to be passed on to consumers. "The rate-payer will bear the cost," he told CBS television.

His remarks were echoed by Michehl Gent, president of the North American Electric Reliability Council, responsible for monitoring power transmission.

"We need more transmission," Mr Gent warned. "We have a very good transmission system, but it's now being used in ways for which it was never designed."

This is working. I dig this. I can't say I'm too fond of the DANZIG, and the skeleton looks too halloween costume-ish. However the Donnie Darko rabbit might make a nice tat. For me, if I got a tattoo it would probably be the Raising Arizona roadrunner tat. Or the words "Objects are larger than they appear" just above my junk.

I don't get it - what do tattoos and skeletons have to do with the electricity problem? If you are trying to avoid the issue and not discuss it, you are doing a good job.

SatCam, I had an appointment today in the city, and I was driving up 6th Avenue, and I turned the radio to 770 AM, it was about 1:10pm until about 1:25pm that I was listening, and if anyone else was listening at that time they can bear witness that what I am saying is true, not verbatim, but the essence of what he was saying. Exactly what I was saying last Friday and afterward, when a lot, but not all, of the people posting were making fun or trying to derail the thread, like they have done with this thread already.

So, sue me if it against the law to listen to Rush Limbaugh every now and again.

By the way - I had very poor reception going up 6th Avenue, from the 30s to the 50s, and when I switched to WCBS Newsradio 880, it was the same poor reception. Does anyone know what this means?

It means you've electified the metal plate in your head and now it's interfering with your radio reception. You should take this very serious because the same problem made Rush Limbaugh go deaf.

Read a story in the newpaper about it. And it's going to come out of our pockets. So look forward to that increase in your electric bill in the year 2005 I think the paper said. Why can't BUSH invade the US and pour some of that money into providing us with electricity and stuff.
