It seems to me that women have more common sense than men when paying for something. For example, if something costs $2.14, most women will go through their purse and find the 14 cents (which makes sense). On the other hand, you don't usually see a guy looking for change. If he's like me, he hands over $3 (or $2.25 at best), and winds up amassing way too much change.

The dynamic is relatively simple...a man looks like a douche going through his pockets looking for pennies, nickels, and dimes, whereas a woman looks smart ; she doesn't care if the cashier or the person behind her is impatient - she's secure enough not to worry about what anyone else thinks.

The only place I use cash regularly is in bars, and the only coins you ever get there are quarters. I usually save these for parking meters and buying the paper on occasion.

When I'm in line, I reach into my pocket and see how much I have in change and how it's distributed among the various denominations. I am ready when the time comes.
It pisses me off when people stand in line and only after their purchases are rung up do they make a move for their money or check book.
