Before the 900 numbers we had these numbers to call to get free riddles that weren't even funny back then. Then around the end of November they would put some guy doing a Santa voice sending a Christmas message.
There were a few of these 976 numbers. Does anyone else remember any of them?

Later,

Off topic for a second. Does anyone remember when Bill Murray gave out Dave Letterman's home address on the air?

Jackie Martling's joke line:

516-922-WINE.

That was from my home town (Oyster Bay, LI). Any old school Long Islanders remember that?

Yeah I used to call this one that Freddy Krueger did. They would tell like a short, half-assed version of a Tales From the Crypt kinda story.
I also remember calling this one that would give a wakeup call, something like 976-WAKE, and I'd randomly put in somebody's number ( usually somebody I knew ) and set a really awful early/late time. It was like 2 bucks a pop and when my parents would ask I'd be like " Nope , dont know anything about it. " Sweet.

I have balls !!!
