Watching the blackout on t.v. made me think about the movie:
Escape from New York.
but which was the better movie?
Escape from New York or Escape from LA?

Is this a trick question?
Because the obviousness of the answer is SO obvious that it's actually hurting me.

I saw the first one, when it came out, in the theater, but I never saw the second one. I remember liking the first one, but I don't remember the details of it. Although that Disney actor was in that picture, trying to show he could venture into more edgy roles.

Escape from Alcatraz don't count. I'm talking about the Escape movies with Kurt Russell.
I'm assuming here that most of the people here are going to pick NY cuz of the regional bias. If not, give me a reason why you picked the movie you picked aside from "NY is the best city or NY is better" crap, thanks.

Because the second one is HORRIBLE.
Except for Bruce Campbell.

Horrible in the way a really bad movie is?
The action was dull, the special effects were horrible, WAY too many useless celebrity cameos and it wasn't funny or interesting for a second.

New York is great movie. And LA had it's moments, but was just a cheesy movie.
They are doing a collector's edition of NY that should be out soon, and they're doing a Snake Plisskin anime. The first issue of a comic book came out months ago.

Mikeyboy, the title clearly states escape FROM movies. Escape TO Witch Mountain wouldn't count...
but this would...

Not at all, I think that personally the first one was just better overall. It has nothing to do with regional bias. The second one was alright, and I did like certain parts of it. But overall the first one was better.
I'm talking in terms of story line, the filming, the characters, etc I just felt the first one was better. I did like the Steve Buschemi character in the second one though.

I loved watching Snake slam Steve Buschemi's head (from Syosset) into the steering wheel and making it honk!

for some reason, no matter how bad the character is, Buschemi always makes me laugh to. But everyone is right, 2 was godawful
