I just Purchased "V - The Final Battle" I'm wondering if this was like a second Mini-series after the regular "V" series? Now thats its started it seems to be picking up somewhere in the middle of the story i remember. Marc Singer Just had a dream about being on the ship and being chased by the bad guys, Now they show a truck being backed into someplace and the badguys unloading hostages. The good guys are dressed in black about to attack the compound. Anybody seen this??

Well she wasnt a baby when that happened, but im sure she could have done it younger if she really wanted to. Since you've all been so helpful thus far, let me ask anohter question. The venom girl in question, Elizabeth, was in a scene in a cave with snakes and other creepy htings around her. She might have ran away and was hiding, I'm not sure, but i think her moms was trying to get her out. Now this scene wasnt on the tapes I gots yesterday so I'm trying to figure if its on a second or 3rd set or somethin

I used to watch the series religously when i was younger, remember how the alien skin when peeled back looked like jello with fruit added to it.

I have heard though they are planning a V 20 year anniversary special or some such

I was never a huge V fan, but I know there are 2 miniseries and the tv series. I think Final Battle is the second one.

And Robert Englund has been saying in interviews that they are writing a new miniseries.

I was a big fan of the two mini series. The actual weekly series pretty much stunk on ice. It would be great if they brought back V as another miniseries.

This is probally where the memories of Elizabeth in the cave come from......? I remember she was older then when the mini seires ended so it must be that.

Welcome back, my 80s-permed alien friends. ABC is bringing back the lizard-alien mini-series V, hooray! The 4400 creator and producer Scott Peters revealed to the trades that the aliens are back and that there may be a video game on the way too. But more importantly, will they bring back the jumpsuits and fantastic 80s sunglasses?

Alan Tudyk, who stars in ABC's sci-fi pilot for a remake of V, told a group of reporters that the new version is what you remember the original was. V is based on the 1980s series about lizard-like aliens taking human form to invade Earth.

"If you are a fan, which I was, of the first one, this is kind of everything that you remember, without going back and watching," Tudyk said in a conference call on Monday to promote Fox's Dollhouse. "If you go back and watch the original V, you're like, 'Oh, I thought this was great. It kind of looks really cheesy.' It fills in your memory as it should be."

One of the major factors in this update, Tudyk added, is the top-notch visual effects. "It's really awesome effects," he said. "The effects are done by Zoic, who did Firefly [in which Tudyk starred]. Zoic does all the spacecrafts. Anything requiring digital enhancement is Zoic, and they do a great job. Then, of course, Morena Baccarin is in it, and she's the leader of the aliens, so you can't get any better than that." Baccarin co-starred with Tudyk in Firefly and its movie spinoff, Serenity.

Unfortunately, there is no Firefly reunion. At least in the pilot, Tudyk has no scenes with Baccarin. "No, but we got to hang out, and that was cool," he said.

Tudyk did not wish to discuss the plot of the new V. "I can say this," he said. "It's really good. I hope that they pick it up."

V awaits pickup from ABC.

So the pilot is made, but awaiting a pickup.

Wash AND Inara? I'm hooked already!

Here's a review of the first episode from ComicCon:

First Episode of "V" Reboot Is Creepy and Intriguing (http://io9.com/5324110/first-episode-of-v-reboot-is-creepy-and-intriguing)

Moody, weird, and genuinely scary, the premiere episode of new ABC series "V" has us convinced that there's life after Battlestar Galactica. We saw the whole thing at Comic-Con and have a spoiler-free report.

Another review:

This was a television franchise we weren't sure we wanted to see back again, and yet another remake/reboot that we were leery of. But this show opened our bleary eyes with its moody, weird and scary pilot. The cast, including Firefly's Morena Baccarin and Alan Tudyk and Lost's Elizabeth Mitchell, were snappy and fun to watch. And the old "beware of aliens bearing gifts" trope still turns out to have a decent amount of life left in it. The 4400's Scott Peters brings the right amount of paranoia to a story where the terrorists turn out to be anti-alien freedom fighters, and the media is lying to us all along. We heard several people marveling afterwards that a V remake could be so intriguing. Hollywood Reporter says the screening and panel got a strong Comic Con response."

Watch the skies!

Starting Friday, the giant red letter V—written by skywriting planes—will begin to appear over New York landmarks like the Statute of Liberty, the network says, to promote V, a remake of the 1980s miniseries, that begins next month. ...

ABC won't specify which landmarks will be getting the giant V treatment, but it will go on for several days, it says.

New Yorkers can expect to see the sky graffiti overhead early Sunday and again on Halloween.

i'll probably still watch, but there wasn't much i liked. they barely built up the story...it went right to fighting. i thought it was hilarious that this ship shows up and the girl gives a 2 minute speech and that was enough to convince the people of New York she was right and they gave her a standing ovation. then within the first hours of them being there they were already selling tickets to take trips to visit their spaceships. I just wish they would have spent a little more time developing characters before they went into the good vs evil story.

They snuck in that it was 3 weeks later by the time merchandise and space ship rides had shown up. But there was a lot of unmotivated action in the pilot. They didn't establish any kind of plausible reason for people to protest the aliens, or for the press to be hostile to them. Then shitty Scott Wolf, who looks like Michael J Fox after he started getting sick, is being all patronizing to the girl before the interview. Shes the rpesident of a fucking planet that can cure cancer and he's like "Oh no hold on there, that's not the way it works little missy."

I don't agree.

This is totally a retro show gimmick.

Sure they may catch some new viewers that were too young to remember the original but the majority of the people that will watch this are people hoping for a more modern version of the original.

They really wann play up the political angle. Mentioning " universal healthcare " like they did.

By the way I watched a few hours of the original on SyFy ( I still like the SciFi spelling better ) the other day and while it was entertaining boy was it 80's bad.

I haven't read any of the right wing blogs but do they have anything to say about the line where they pretty much said that Bush was a lizard? They stated that the V's have been here for decades and infiltrated every level of society and government and among other things have gotten us involved in "unnecessary wars".

The "tighten up" guy from knocked up took me out of it for a bit. Like alot of shows ABC in particular since Lost, it has cool creepy momments that then get f'd by some lame attempt at emotional drama. Overall i'll check it out when they post them online but not ready to commit.

I haven't read any of the right wing blogs but do they have anything to say about the line where they pretty much said that Bush was a lizard? They stated that the V's have been here for decades and infiltrated every level of society and government and among other things have gotten us involved in "unnecessary wars".

Wait but that combined w/ the obama stuff would mean the producers would be taking shots at both parties. Can't have that!

Just watched the pilot....not really too impressed but I'll give it a few more episodes.

I totally picked up on the Obama jabs that everyone is saying are built into the show. I actually thought it was pretty funny.

I hate how the New York street scenes are soooo obviously shot in LA or someplace. Its obviously being done on the cheap and its one of those things I hate about tv shows and takes me right out of it.

There was the one scene where the black V was going into the garage and there were all these overpass support columns behind him. They were obviously LA highway support columns because I've never seen a highway like that around here. But they just stuck up a cheap looking "I-78 Next Right" sign on one of the columns as if to say: "See, we're really in New Jersey. Ignore the fact that its supposed to be November and it looks like its 90 degrees and sunny." Also, who puts a sign on an overpass support with no road in sight?

Wow! I really am a nit-picky son of a bitch, aren't I?

Tonight was a great episode, but with only one left before 2010(nice going ABC), the next one better be awesome so I'm looking forward to it.

What is wrong with the green/blue screen shots of people/aliens on the V ships? It looks really cheap, like this is a Sci-Fi Channel movie.
