Back in the 70's when Ronald McDonald had his own following, I remember when Burger King's King had his own following also. (Before the Burger King franchise abandoned his royal highness gimmick). Does anyone remember any of these guys? The only one I can remember right now is the Milkshake guy (I think he was like the court-jester or something). They used to promote these guys through all their products (I remember they had glasses, little trinkets with their pictures and moving reel that you spun when you looked into the box the character moved.
Thanks.

The crown was all part of the gimmick started from the king...I do remember this guy as he was an alternative to the McDonalds posse. And by the way, what in the fuck was Grimace?? A mutated gumDr0p who could speak??

The shake guy was Sir Shakes a Lot and there was the Duke of Doubt, who was like Burger King's nemesis or something. There was also a robot that was used for French Fries. I can't remember the name of that, something like Wizard of Fries maybe, I don't know.

I don't remember that, but I remember the Abe Vigoda sitcom "Fish" that spun off from Barney Miller.

I remember the tune from the commercials:

"I'm the marvelous, magical Burger King
I can do most anything..."

I always thought Mayor McCheese would have severe neck pain from hauling that gigantic burger head around. His mother must have died trying to pop him out. I dont trust a clown to cook my hamburger! The Fry Guys always reminded me of bugged out Rasta guys. Remember when they tried to pass off that black guy as Ronald McDonald? Why did kids need to even have cartoonish people to attract them to fast food? Obviously it worked, but makes me wonder. Roy Rogers always seemed better food, but they never resorted to the cartoonish charicters, and they went belly up. Taco Bell had the chiuauaua. Arbys? I cant remember if they had anything. Id kill for an old fashioned Roy Rogers roast beef sandwich right now! Remember the Double R bar burger? It had ham and hamburger..sooo gooood
