Atlanta Mayor Shirley Franklin's homeless commission, put together after complaints from business people, tourists and residents, produced a report in March titled, "Blueprint to End Homelessness in Atlanta."

That's a nice name, but from what I'm reading its not exactly a plan to end homelessness as much as it is a plan to put the homeless in a place where no one can see them.

My Mortgage is a little under $1800 a month. When I rented it was at least $900 a month.

My Cell phone cost me $50 and service costs $40 a month.

I broke out my Slide ruler and found that Cell Phone cost less than a Home. So I could see how one couldn't afford a home but had enough for a cellphone.

Now. It's just plain stupid to spend what little money you have on Mobile Phone servide, but there are TONS of stupid people out there so why is anyone surprised.

I am still trying to understand people who buy a $9000-$15,000 import and spend $40,000 trying to turn it into something from The Fast and The Furious. When they could have spent that money on a REALLY NICE CAR.

I remember driving on the overpasses in Bangkok over a lot of the "Shantytowns" that existed under them, and seeing all kinds of things like that. TONS of satellite dishes, new cars/bikes, people on cell phones...

Consumer priority, dammit.
