Is there a program (preferably a free one) that will let you take screen captures of DVDs played in the DVD drive of a computer? Thanks.

the easiest and cheapest way is to pause the movie and hit the [print screen] button to capture the image .....

then open up either powerpoint or an image editor, paste the image and edit accordingly .....

If you're using a DVD player with options, put the video acceleration down all the way to none and hit print screen, and paste in a graphic editor.

Just hitting "print screen" will get you a black screen.

I like PowerDVD. It's a software DVD player that has extra features like the ability to screen cap. IM me and I'll hook you up with a demo copy.

If you have a DVD player on your PC, you can use a program called Cyberlink PowerDVD, there's a picture screen capture button on the player. That's what I used to capture the images in my current sigpic of the lovely Eliza Dusku from J&SBSB.

Thanks everyone. I have Cyberlink PowerDVD 4.0 on my system, but for the life of me I can't find the screen capture button. Am I using too old of a version, or am I just an idiot?

Pause the movie and hit C. Or click the lil pic of the camera in the strip on the bottom.

Look for the button on the player that looks like a little camera.
