BRMC.

The world's greatest band. At least in the now.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

Unspeakably cool. Impossibly fantastic.

Already one instant classic self-titled debut album in the bag.

Now, on September 2nd, comes the best album of the year.

BRMC's "Take The On, On Your Own".

Be prepared.

Get a taste at the official site.

http://www.blackrebelmotorcycleclub.com (Click on "Jukebox" from the homepage. Try "Whatever Happened To My Rock 'N' Roll" and "Spread Your Love".)

ALL HAIL.

Always trust Mojo's opinion on music!

That being said, this is some good stuff. I know it rocks me when I get a smile while listening. The Jesus and Mary Chain keeps popping into my head for somereason and that is DEFINITELY making me giddy!

Oh yeah! It's SO FUZZY!

Kindest Regards, Your Fluff

Yeah, obviously The Jesus & Mary Chain is a HUGE influence here...except this seems to be a little "funkier". Like J&MC mixed with post-"Screamadelica" Primal Scream. Good shtuff.

NOW GO LISTEN!!! You gotta click the little arrows at the bottom of the Jukebox next to the "Paused" label when it first pops up. Skip the accoustics and go right for the album tracks, dammit.

I used to occasionally hang out with some guys from North Philly Wheels, which is just a black motorcycle club.
Is this anything like that?

Just saw these guys play the 9:30 Club here in DC the night of the hurricaine. Only about 250 people braved the storm, but the band still rocked their collective balls off. UNSTOPPABLE ROCK.

This band ALONE proves that anyone who still sticks by the lazy "there's no good music today"-line of thinking is either a fool or a damn, dirty ape of a liar.

First off I think Pat Benatar and Debrah Harry should be notified that theyre old beats are being copied. (Let it be known i like both of them) Secondly, "real rock" uses the fucking echo produced voice thing? Listen, I'm just pissed because I was expecting a decent rock band. What I got was more like a Eurythmics cover band.

After my first initial reaction to this band, I bought the record. Side One (first half of the disc) left a good fuzzy feeling and I liked it but the second side left me quite unfulfilled and a bit bored with it. Then again, I have been told that my musical taste sucks so maybe I just didn't get it since I am too busy listening to other "shit". I have been a bit hesitant getting the new record but I may check out the show in NYC tomorrow if I can get a hold of tickets.

It may be just me also but band's second albums recently have been leaving me high and dry and incredibly disapointed. So I have been hesitating alot before Dr0pping the collective $10 here and there on new albums for fear they will fade away into my collection with the other wasted pieces of plastic.

So I have been hesitating alot before dropping the collective $10 here and there on new albums for fear they will fade away into my collection with the other wasted pieces of plastic.

Go pick up the new BRMC at Best Buy. I saw it there the other day for $5.99. And I guarentee you'll like it. I loved the first album, but like you said, it DOES drop off towards the second half. It doesn't get bad, but the songs get kinda similar...except for the monstrously awesome "Spread Your Love". The second album is a MUCH more consistent work in that you can listen to the whole thing without ever wanting to skip a track or two. Take a chance, fluff...

Secondly, "real rock" uses the fucking echo produced voice thing?

Yes.

What I got was more like a Eurythmics cover band.

<p>From that album?&nbsp; Nothing yet, unfortunately...it's not out until August and they haven't played live in months, so there aren't even any live bootlegs with the new material that I could find.</p><p>Looks like the site is being re-tooled, so their audio section is gone too, but check out clips from their album on CDNow, or download them off of torrent.</p>

For some reason I just fell out of love with this band. I hope this
album brings me back a little bit. Maybe it is just how my tatstes have
gone and I must have been really bored when I got into BMRC cause I did
in fact like it then. In fact it made me want to go and listen to my
Jesus &amp; Mary Chain albums. As a matter of fact, from there on out
when I wanted to listen to BMRC I
would just pull out my JAMC albums and play them. They could pull off
the bland and boring and rock at the same time without being bland and
boring and not really rocking. Weird, I know but I am a bit like that
with music at times.<br />

<p>Alright, this thread title is appropriate again today with the new album, &quot;Howl,&quot; coming out towards the end of September.</p><p><a href="http://www.blackrebelmotorcycleclub.com/aintnoeasyway/" target="_blank">You can check out the new single, &quot;Ain't No Easy Way,&quot; at THIS link, and the video for it, too (You'll have to diable pop-up blockers to listen or watch it).</a></p><p>Me, I'm REALLY digging the song and the new sound for the band.&nbsp; I was already super-gay for them (and in general) to begin with, but the blues-y sound of this and the earlier b-side is something I can really get into.&nbsp; I picked up the whole album off of bit torrent, and it all pretty much sounds along the same line, so I can't wait to pick it up when it comes out next month.</p>

<p>Wow, good pull on the thread.</p><p>I like the new songs...nice mix of the blues-y thing they had going last album and the scuzzy, fuzzed out rawk of the first two albums.&nbsp; Nice that they got the drummer back, too.&nbsp; That guy can really pound a backbeat...and some man-ass.</p>

Draggin' this up one more time, because I saw them last night at Webster Hall. They kicked all kinds of ass. Played a two-hour set, mostly songs from the new album, but mixed in plenty of old stuff too, including "Spread Your Love" during an encore. I cannot recommend BRMC enough... pick up any one of their four albums, or go check them out if they come through your town!

Just saw them last night at the TLA in Philly.

Peter Hayes came back for an encore, acoustic solo playing "Complicated Situation" and another From Howl. Then was joined by the other band mates for some older songs. They just kept playing and playing.

Great, great, great show.
