what's up everyone.

I'm just inquiring if anyone knows a ggod way to get rid of a tree. The tree's root is the size of about 6 baseballbats and is inbedded between the wall of the house and the ground. I usually just cut off the branches but I fear that the three will destroy the wall if it keeps growing.

One of my friends recommended pouring clorox at the base of the tree and wait for it to die. I'm not sure if it will work. So I'm asking if anyone knows a way to get rid of the tree without using professionals. Thanks.

Without professionals, I would use a shovel and pick axe to dig out around the larger roots you said are growing into or under your house. Then I would chainsaw them out as much as I could. This should stop any further growth.

Only problem is the manual labor. It can be done. You should borrow or rent a chainsaw. Just DON'T cut into the dirt with it. The blade will become duller than shit. Or if you're feeling REALLY ballsy, you can dig out around it a little less and just axe the shit out of it until big chunks start flying. I did that before.

you may want to see if you can have the house raised and moved over several feet...

nah, that's silly...

just move to a different house...

seriously: you could save a few bucks by taking the tree down yourself and having a tree service grind the stump and this root down below ground level... or just have the tree service take care of the tree, stump, and root... you'll wind up with a bunch of mulch, which is cool if you have a place to spread it around...

Drill a long deep hole onto the thickest part of the "basketball sized roots" and stuff it with dynamite..nahh..drill as deep as you can and get some left over halite from the winter and fill that hole you drilled to the top with it and the salt will kill the stump. Drill as many holes as you like in it, more is better than less. Its growth will stop and the wood will die and in like 10 years youll be able to pull whats left of the blackened husks out by hand with no problem. If not, thats why God made Hispanics. Hire one or two as day laborers and pay them $100 each and sit back and enjoy the show as they try and hack it out with axes while you sit back in a chaise lounge sipping Coronas and listining to the game. Fun stuff!

Yes, I think detergent will successfully kill it. But, I think you have to wet it atleast once a month.

If trees could scream, would we be so cavalier about cutting them down? We might, if they screamed all the time, for no good reason.

Nice callback.

The hill is fine now. The next week it grew back so I did it right and just pulled a mower across the hill.

Drilling a hole in it and putting a coupla tablespoons of Round Up in there will do the trick. I just knocked out a bunch of Alanthus that way. Next, I'm gonna try vinegar, I've heard it works well also.
If you cut the whole tree down, it's a good idea to still drill (I used about a 3/4 inch bit) and poison right in the center of the stump, just in case it's a tree like this damned Alanthus fucker that sends out runners that'll still pop up even though the parent tree is dead.
