With the advent of the internet and computers, when was the last time you wrote a letter to one of your friends, family, lover, etc. instead of e-mailing them?
I know that stamps have JUMPED up in price in order to offset the lost business to the internet and riding cost of mail.

But what got me on this topic was that I was watching the movie "the Four Feathers" where one of the character goes blind but keeps the letters that the girl he liked wrote to him on the homefront. I'm sure some of your parents have kept the love letters that their lover (hopefully the person they married) sent them. I know I kept some of mine but I hide them from others. Keeping lovers e-mail doesn't seem the same because your printing it up from the computer and letters that are written via by hand seem much more personal.

Thanks for listening.

Did anyone of you ever have a pen pal?

Last week I sent a cover letter and resume, per their classified request, by mail to apply for a job. I haven't seen that for years, everything is done by E-mail today.

Thank God for the fact that your reading this instead of trying to make sence of my hand writing! While Im sure that email has trimmed down the amount of actual letters sent, Im absolutely convinced that more people than ever are communicating via text than ever before. Thats a good thing! The last time I actually hand wrote something was on a goodbye card for a girl in my office that was leaving, and I doubt she will be able to read it!

I notice alot of companys doing this... "We are loosing money due to the internet! We better raise our prices to make up for lost revenue! It is the only way we can survive!!" To me thats crazy, if anything, raising the price drives business away!!

The last time I put a stamp on a letter was to Infinity to " Save Ron and Fez " in NY. All I do is email.

Yes, I still do. Before email I used to write A LOT of letters all over the place to various friends and family but it slowly died down.

Now I always use hand written notes as Thank You cards and I will write letters to older relatives who do not use email for whatever reason.

And I still write love letters and have kept all of the love notes/letters I have recieved since junior high I think.

When I was in Kindergarten (in Philadelphia) I released a balloon with my address on it and I recieved a letter from Vermont. The Jones boys found it in their backyard and I had a pen pal for a couple years after that.

This past year I stuck my address in a bottle and threw it off a boat somewhere off the coast of Puerto Rico. Hey, ya never know.

And then there was that letter I sent to a girl I was madly in... ugggg... errrrrr........ excuse me, I'm cringing big time right now. Oh I hope she burned that letter..... eerrrrr

I forgot to add that during the first Gulf War my mom was reading in the paper about becoming a pen pal for a soldier. So she signed me up and we wrote letters and sent packages to a guy in the marines over there. We still keep in touch with him but it's usually just Christmas cards every year since the war ended.

Sorry, girls save them ALL.
