If my ears don't deceive me, I believe Jane's is back!

I haven't bought the new album "Strays" yet, but the single "Just Because" is very reminiscent of a "Nothing's Shocking" era Jane's Addiction.

Thoughts? Disagreements? Recipes?

If it had come out 10+ years ago like it should have, it would be an instant classic. But, like the last Breeders albums, it came far, FAR too late to ever be anything more than just "good".

Sorry. I was never too into Jane's Addiction. I, like so many other 80's kids know "Been Caught Stealing" and that's about it.

That slower song they overplayed with the steel drums was OK.

Their front man CREEPS me out. Not Gothkids creeped, but pretty creeped. You can smell the dick on his breath over the radio.

Ok, but...

What new music has hit the radio waves that has even nearly been worth mentioning?

I like Jane's, but Moe's right. The creepiness of Perry Farrell can not be denied.

I love Jane's Addiction, yet I cannot deny that statement. I saw them open for Iggy Pop in 1988 (Yeah, I'm old. SO WHAT! ;)) . So Perry Farrell sucked tongue with Dave Navarro...

No biggie!

I wouldn't kick Dave Navarro out of the coffin for that... :)

Before I even read past your post asking this Skid, I know Mojo is gonna unleash a list of worthy bands that are definitely worth mentioning and if anything, they don't sound but have the same kind of presence that a virtually unknown Jane's had back when they were beginning.

Again, not comparing in the least, any new band (or bands) to Jane's.

I for one, liked Nothing's Shocking but Ritual made me vomit. So bad, it ruined Shocking for me.

I saw a clip of the new vido and it eerily reminds me of something glam that would of come out in 87. Just the lighting and the posing and the stage set up.

I LIKE that kind of thing though.

Kindest Regards, Your Fluff

Eh, I'm not that motivated today.

I LIKE the new song...it's just sad that they waited a decade too late to put it out. It's bad enough to hear other acts aping what's already been done...why encourage that by hyping up a band that apparently hasn't bothered to change an ounce since 1985?

Oh, and Perry harassed my friend Ed, like, 15 years ago. He showed up at Ed's place after a small club show out in California, and wouldn't shut up about where to score some rocks. Ed finally had to literally push him out the door at about 7 AM. What a goober.

I saw them on Letterman last night. The new song sounded pretty good. I was never into them that much. I really like Nothing's Shocking, but that's about it. I lost a lot of respect for them when the toured under the Jane's name with Flea as the bassist. He wasn't the original bassist, so why start a reunion tour with the name "Jane's Addiction"? I hate it when bands do that.

NEWS FLASH.

That wasn't the original bassist on "Letterman", or on the new song, or in the new video, or on the new tour, or on the new album.

Sorry Mojo. I wasn't aware of that. I never claimed to be the biggest Janes fan.

Well I am a world recognized athority on Jane's Addiction and I know that the bassist on Letterman certianly WAS the original bassist.

I am also the US Ambassador to Venus.
