Are doctors and Dentist in cahoots?

I was reading another thread about treasure chest at the dentist's office and it reminded my of when I was little and visited the Doctor's office. When you're a kid, the people at the doctor's office have all these treats for you (candy, lollipops, stuff like that). I remember stacking up with that stuff. And they wonder why kids went to the dentist. Hmmm......

Also, do Doctors usually refer you to their friends (who is a specialist)? Sometimes it seems that way.
