Treasure Chests

When I was a kid, and I'd go to the dentist for a checkup, there would be this giant treasure chest that you could dip into to grab whatever you wanted. You could take whatever you wanted, after you had your checkup.

There was always lots of cool stuff in there though, little games, and trinkets, etc. The treasure chest was cardboard like, but I'm sure he got it from some catalog and there must be way to get these treasure chests o' fun.

the only thing i would get at a dentist is a lollipop. at first, i always wondered why the hell they would give u a freakin' lollipop if they want you to try and keep your teeth healthy, but then it became pretty obvious that they just wanted to ensure that u came back. those dentists are sneaky little bastards.

My dentist had that too. Every trip, I got to pick out a toy. Sure most of it was plastic crap, but I loved it all the same. For that very reason, I actually liked going to the dentist. Now, I'm an adult and I get no treasure chest, and I hate going dentist. Coincidence?

When I would go to the dentist he would give me the gas and I would slowly pass out, trying to keep him from unbuttoning my pants.

When I was 13, I got the braces. When I had to go in for the periodic checkup, one of the women that were the dentist's assistants would somehow lean over and stick her breast in my face. She'd do something or other on one side, and that breast would be very near, but not quite touching.This was to get me ready for when she did whatever it was on the other side, then I'd have that bad boy shoved right up against the side of my face. Every time I had an appointment.
Instant boner.
I had mixed feeling going in there. One, was great joy knowing what would happen. Two was the embarrassment over bustin' wood.
I remember wearing a windbreaker with the bottom coupla snaps fastened to try to cover up, you know, but the embarrassment would get me feverish with embarrassment and sweat would pop out on my forehead and she'd ask if, since I was warm, if I wanted to take off my jacket. This caused sheer terror.
She was lovely too. Looked like Kate Jackson in her prime.
She also drove me nuts in conversation. She'd say how bored she was and how there was nothing to do. Oh how I floundered trying to come up with something!
An Australian with a delightful accent, to this day I wonder if that's why I so dig an accent in a woman's speech.
