Isn't it such an important and significant gesture to look people in the eye when you talk to them?
I went out to dinner tonight and each time a waiter brought me an item i looked them right in the eye and said "Thank You" It just so happened that they were looking at me after each bit of service and it made the whole gesture so much more sincere.
I would imagine if you said "thanks" and never looked them in the eye then the gesture would look to be insincere.
I'm sure everyone realizes that eye contact can be very powerful, whether it is done between a man and a woman to acknowledge satisfaction or dissatisfaction, or letting someone know you are sincere.
Obviously you have them real 'dirtbags" that can look you in the eye and lie to your face(like a couple of my bosses or anybody in the Bush family) :) Or to a girl so you can get a little piece of that nicey nice stuff. or a girl to a guy to get a free meal.
One of my favorite lines in one of my favorite songs is in Bob Seger's "Ramblin Gamblin Man"
Ain't good looking, but you know I ain't shy
Ain't afraid to look you girl, in the eye
But are you one who makes a point of looking someone in the eye when you speak to them to show you are sincere?
