get a life

does anybody remember this show? i've been listening to handsome boy modeling school (prince paul and the automator) and they use samples from the comedy show "get a life." i had never seen this show before so i asked around. a friend of mine says it was on comedy central in the early 90's, but it was shortly cancelled.

so, i just watched a couple of episodes of this show today and i couldn't stop laughing. i don't feel so bad anymore since others have been telling me that get a life was probably one of the funniest shows ever.

what do you all think? did any of you catch this show when it was on tv? is chris elliot an underrated genius?

[The Blowhard]

The show was brilliant, but during it's run on Fox the network was still in it's infancy, and nobody was watching it. I think if it was on today it would be a hit. Fox has established itself and has a very young demo audience. "Get a Life" was ahead of it's time.

i remember the show but chances are today it wouldn't be on FOX since they don't know good stuff it it bites them on their crotch (Cancelling Action? For shame)

Chirs Elliot was the star of that show on Fox. The show came out in Fox's second or third year.

And the first episode is about Chris trying to become a model and going to the Handsome Boy Modeling School.

And I first checked out HBMS when I found an Alec Empire remix. Good stuff.

they actually have like four episodes on dvd and some others on video. i thought chris elliot was hilarious.

and handsome boy modeling school is great!

i love the samples they use from the show.

i just checked out chris elliot's homepage and it says that the show is or was being shown on the usa network or something.

I totally remember this show! I think the opening theme music was REM's Stand...and if i remember correctly, the last episode aired had Chris getting shot in the chest or something like that?
