my room gets dumb hot sometimes, even with my airconditioner.

now i dig it being really cold, so i sometime sleep with a fan pointed right at me, but i always wake up with a headache if i do.

i'm assuming it's the fan, but i don't know why.
does blowing air really cause headaches?

I think you're on to something there. I have central air, but I have a fan on me as well. I usually end up with a headache as well. Strange.

I love the sounds of my fans blowing on me, it lulls me to sleep. I dont hear the wetbacks above me doing the Mexican hat dance song and if the power goes out at 2 am, I hear the silence and wake up.
I know alot of people that find continuous sounds enough to give them headaches, you must be one of them, and its a shame. I wish there was something you could do. I love sleeping in the cold, wrapped in a comforter. I hate being hot in bed and no relief. You may want to a get a ceiling fan, its alot quieter.

I would assume that having the fan pointed directly at you is forcing air up your nose or in your mouth, drying out your sinuses and giving you a headache as a consequence. Try pointing the fan slightly away from your face. The Mrs. and I used to have a similar problem with the fan in our room until we got the A/C installed.

I don't know that fans can cause headaches directly, but if the fan is blowing on your neck, it can cause the neck to stiffen up, temporarily compress some nerves and give you a headache.

I have this problem as well. I even get it with AC directly on my neck, so I always make sure the vents are pointed slightly away from the bed.

Do the headaches only occur when the fan is on? (or the morning after)? Do you get migraines or cluster headaches? Best bet is to go to a nuerologist and get it checked out.

I have an overhead fan I keep on low and keep my window airconditioner on Low 9.
I also keep my radio on when I sleep... it's a weird thing I do every single night.

your headache probably has nothing to do with your fan... its probably caused by the heat and humidity.. i get more headaches when its hot and humid out then when its nice out
