was it scoring the game winning run, goal, or basket,

mine was in soccer in 1988 against stump12 team tied 1-1 with 2 minutes left and made a save and then the rebound shot just barely went in the net but ref was so far away he didn't see it go in. I throw it out then we won in PK. so every once in a while i like to remind him off that game in 88.

When I first played baseball at age 7, I struggled with my hitting. I could hit in practice but not in games. The last game of the year I got my first hit: a game-winning Grand Slam.

its funny cause its like 4 years ago, but soph year in HS, i took a kid deep, one of only 2 homers i hit that year. anyway next at bat he drilled me. since i was pitchin, when he came up after that i let one go at his head. it hit him and took his helmet off. he got up and tried to throw his bat at me and we met with fist flyin about 20 feet in front of the plate. it got me banned from baseball in HS and probably was the funniest thing ever

when i played little league baseball, i pitched a 15-strikeout game against one of the best teams in the league. it was pretty f'in sweet. too bad our team record was like 9-12 that year.

"I feel like I'm Han Solo, and you're Chewie, and she's Ben Kenobi, and we're in that fucked-up bar."

Ah...the greatness of Jay & Silent Bob

Finally "breaking 90" in golf. I could make pars (and an occasional birdie) from day one, but boy those "big numbers " killed me. I posted every combination of 90 from 53- 37 on. When I was about 15, I got it going at Bethpage and didn't even consider what I was shooting till the 16th hole. I promptly took an 8. I finished with an 81.
(as an adult shooting in the 70's presented the same problems, finally shot 45-33 to break the barrier).

As a kid, I sucked at sports.

But, in high school, I ran a 4:41 mile. That felt great.

My last year of little league, I was on the worst team ever. In the last game, I hit a looper into right field. As I was rounding second, I was like 'fuck it, I'm going for it'. As I turned third, all off a sudden I was unconscious. The right fielder with the big arm beaned me right in the head. My parents tell me everyone was freaking, and the ump was screaming 'don't touch him'. Finally, the catcher sheepishly picks up the ball and tags me out, and THEN the ump called the play and let my dad revive me.

Supid little league.

*Edit: My parents still have the batting helmet, which cracked about three inches when the little bastard hit me.*

Ahhh, many good sport memories....
One that comes to mind is once I hit a baseball further than anyone had ever hit one at a field in Capehart on the Quantico Marine Base.
Hit that ball waaaay down the left field line, over a maintainance storage shed, drawing gasps from the crowd and admiring looks from the guys.
Thing is, it was a foul ball.
Still, people remembered it for several years.
