The day when the hostages were taken in IRAN. I remember going to Reagans inaugaration (sp) and once he was sworn in they released the hostages. Everyone on the mall were cheering it was a great moment.

In my junior high school we had a kid Billy Viscidi (sp) was killed accidentally by his brother. His brother buried him in the backyard in a Glad trash bag and told everyone that he ran away. A week later the found the body.

That started those horrible songs:

Wrap up your brother in a Glad trash bag and smile smile smile,
Tell the cops he'll be gone for a while and smile, smile, smile.

1979: 16-year-old Brenda Ann Spencer opened fire on children arriving at Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego from her house across the street, killing two men and wounding eight students and a police officer. Principal Burton Wragg was attempting to rescue children in the line of fire when he was shot and killed, and custodian Mike Suchar was slain attempting to aid Wragg.

Spencer used a rifle her father had given her as a gift. As to what impelled her into this form of murderous madness, she told a reporter,''I don't like Mondays. This livens up the day.''

The Boomtown Rats go on to horrify us further with a song entitled "I don't like Mondays" to punish us for this act of mowing down classmates, which in the next decade would go on to become a customary High School coming-of-age act of rebellion.
