Amen, i dont wanna speak for people cause i know people hate that, but most people around here seem to be the type that like stuff thats possible. movies are fake, but when they are just ridiculous i kinda lose interested, maybe its cause its such a fantasy

I think Lord of the Rings is great. The battle of Helms deep was amazing to watch. I cannot wait for return of the king.

I thought the movies were good, the second one I just watched a few weeks ago on DVD it was about a half and hour to long. I am looking forward to the third one this winter.
My friend got a studio copy of LOTR on DVD that's how I saw it. The quality was good, but i will buy the DVD when it comes out.

I didn't read the books but I love the movies. I've watched them both so many times (I got a copy online of the Two Towers). A lot of people are fans, we just don't talk about it all the time. Plus, it's summer, the time for cheesy blockbusters.... like T3 and Bad Boys 2.

Origanally i thought this was a thread to bash the LOTR saga. Thank god it is not.
I'm a fan of the series but in no way will i say i'm as big a fan as Too Cute. I love the series, I must say some of it does translate good to film. Too bad film is limited to the current advancements in visual effects.
anyway, I am looking foward to LOTR:ROTK. And i'm waiting for the DVD that will be coming out after the ROTK special 4-disc comes out . The DVD will have LOTR uncut, as in the sense of 3 movies, 1 DVD, 1 set of opening and colosing credits.
God i can't wait for that.

Well, It can't actually be 1 DVD, all three films would be al
least 9 hours long. but if it's uncut then all three Extended
versions would be more like 12 hours. for the Movie to look
good you have to limit it to 2-3 hours a side on a DVD if
they are going to spilt it up on more than 2 DVDs than
they might as well keep it 3 seperate films.
But I'm sure there will be some big set of Discs to come out
after they release the 2 differen setst of LOTR:ROTK, at
that point I'll have bought 6 DVD sets, Those Bastards...

It would be the regular versions of the film, and yes it would be a little over 9 hours long, but if you strip all the crap from a dvd, like title menus and special features and all that crap, you can fit a hell of a lot on a dvd, plus don't you think that if they were to release it on one disc it would sell amazingly well, because it would be the film LORD OF THE RINGS in it entirety, no opening and closing credits inbetween FOTR & TT or TT & ROTK. i swear i can't wait for that.
not to mention that this DVD would be like a year and 1/2 after the extended edition of LOTR:ROTK would be released, so they have plenty of time to work out thye time problem

I love LOTR. Since Too Cute got the DVD special edition box set I have been able to throw away my Halcion and Ambien. I just pop a disc in and I'm in Stage IV sleep in ten minutes.

Love the books, hate the movies.
Peter Jackson raped Tolkien's vision.

With me, it started with The Hobbit in High School in a literature course of some sort. We read whatever we wanted and someone I knew suggested The Hobbit. Read it twice. It was GOLD.
Then I found out about the Rings Trilogy and all the other things. Read the Trilogy twice. Only got through the Silmarillion once. TORTURE! ::snore:: wee wee wee wee BORING!
Read all the Unfinish Tales and all that other silly shit.
Tolkien is the man. I LOVE how he took his knowledge of language and made up his own. He understood the mechanics of words, so when he needed to make up an evil name for a tower lets say, it wasn't just nonsense. It sounded evil.
Great books. Solid movies. I haven't even seen the 2nd one yet! I'm so poor!
I am a fan. Do you feel more a part of something there T/C30?

I absolutly love the Lord of the Rings. I guess I don't consider myself a huge fan cause all I've done is read The Hobbit and seen the first two movies, but whatever I've read/seen I've loved. I can't wait until August 26th when the TT comes out on DVD and then December when ROTK comes out in theaters.

the silmarilian was garbage , no one should have been allowed to publish that . tolkien was doing fine with the saga of the ring he really didnt need to put that out and tarnish his name .
he was such a master with words because he was a professor of anglo-saxon , and studied old english or some shit.
some people seem to have mastered the art of sarcasm but cant recognize someone elses

I've never read the books, but after all the good reccomendations (especially Too Cute going wild over it on Ron and Fez), I knew I had to see it because no one I talked to hated it.
I saw the first on DVD and I really loved it. I'm going to rent The Two Towers, but there are lost of other movies on my list. I bet I'll like part 2 as well.
