Woo Hoo! I got proofed today!

Today I went out to lunch with my friend from work. She went to get cigarettes and said, "Order me a Manhattan." (She was having a BAD morning!).

I sit down and the waitress brings us some menus. She asks if she can get us anything to drink, so I say, "A Manhattan and a diet coke."

"Can I see some ID?" I hand her my driver's license. She looks at the birthdate (3/21/1967), looks at me, and says, "Really?"

(For those of you to lazy to do the math, I'm 36.)

It doesn't happen often, but when it does it SO makes my day!

Congrats. I'm about your age, and last summer I was at a party in Long Beach (L.I.) when I was elected to make a beer run. The gray haired old lady at the register asked for id, which I didnt have on me. She would not let me outta the store with the beer. It was bittersweet to say the least.

I was proofed the other day for a taxi. Is that legal? I don't think cabbies are supposed to I.D. you. Nor do I think it fair that I am not allowed to pay for my taxi ride with balloon animals.

Maybe they just look at me and don't care that I'm slowly killing myslef with these products.
