Strip Clubs : Degrading To Men?

I haven't been to a strip club in awhile, probably because I've come to the realization that the whole experience is degrading.

Guys like Howard Stern talk all the time about how great it is to go to Scores. Yeah, if you're Howard Stern, and you've got more money than God, and everyone is kissing your ass and the strippers actually want to fuck you because you're rich and famous, then yeah, I guess it's a lot of fun.

But for a regular guy, it's not all that fun. The bouncers treat you like an asshole. The waitresses treat you like an asshole. The music sucks and is way too loud. The drinks are like $10. The place is crowded as hell.

Sure, there are plenty of beautiful naked girls, but I'm so agitated by the atmosphere that I can't really relax. Maybe I'm just getting old ; the things that bother me now didn't even occur to me when I was 21.

The quality of women in those places has gone way down hill since, say, the late 80's-early 90's when I used to frequent them. I mean if youre gonna pay to see a woman, she should be better looking than the average woman on the street, no? I'd rather buy a dozen women drinks at a regular bar and get turned down by every one of them, than paying a cover, $8 a beer, and $20 for a lap dance that these days has more rules than the Marquis of Queensbury.

I was never really into the strip club thing. It's women harrassing you for singles, and if I just wanted to look at women, I could walk down the street and admire attractive ladies for free.

And if you're ever in a strip club where a famous person is (i.e. Scores), forget it. The women all want to be around that guy because he's got the fame and the money.

Just the fact that you refer to these entertainers as "naked" shows how insecure you are with yourself, with nudity and with sexuality. See, id say they are NUDE. These women work from 12-8, or 8-4am, some even holding down full time jobs on top of it. Taking money from men? YES. Acting like we like them, or care about their problems, etc? YES......and its all quite lucrative.
If you feel like less of a man because when you walk in the door, dont go. There are millions of men who can handle it, and they will gladly enjoy the fact that your not there to drain the energy. As for when celebrities come in? Supply and demand, they come in for a good time, for atmosphere etc, and this is what we provide. They want to pay 15 women to sit there and entertain? What do you care? I cant even count how many "regular guys" come in regularly, enjoy themselves and go home, none leaving more stressed than before. Some men are ignored by their wives, co-workers etc....some simply admire confident, attractive friendly women. Sure theres the occasional dog or bitch you come accross, but its kind of rare, at least in MY experience.

I see nothing degrading about any of this, if it honestly offends you, dont go.

I have only been to a strip club once in my life. I realy had no reason to again, seeing as how I don't have trouble getting a girl without paying her. But, let me thank the guys that DO go to these clubs. For, it is your money that buys me my dinners and pays for my tolls. There is nothing better than talking to a girl who strips and makes that money. I personally don't care what goes on at these clubs or what extra things some girls may do for money. I know that it's my bed that they come home to at the end of each night. And, when we both have time, it's YOUR money that we spend. So thanks to all the guys that frequent these clubs. You have just proved my point about men looking like(and being) idiots at these joints. If a man walks in like that, he's fake. If a man walks in like a kid in a candy store, he's a dork. The only "cool" guys in there are either dating the strippers, own the club, or are getting the occasional overpriced hummer in the bathroom. I went to one about 10 years ago because my friend's band was playing there. I won't say that it sucked, cause my friend's band rocked, and the atmosphere was cool, but i wasn't there for a lapdance because I know how much of a waste of money it was. And the NJ strippers who give you these lapdances(BUT DON'T TOUCH) can't hold a candle to these sexy Latina hookers around here, who give you what you want for $40.00. Now if strip clubs had legal prostitution, we'll that's a different story. But before I go to a titty bar, I'll go to a professional sexist. I'll totally admit to going to hookers in the past and also admit to that being degrading too. But I'll take my degradation in PRIVATE, for less money spent, prettier women, and WITH a happy ending.(orgasms are VERY important to me) And I don't pay for sex now but I would before going to one of these "tease" bars that suck your money but not your badda boom.

There's nothing wrong with going to strip clubs, though I don't like to go because it gets me all worked up and my chick isn't always willing. I've only gone a few times, usually for bachelor parties.

There is something a little sad about being a regular. I had a boss who went to Goldfingers so often, everyone knew him and the women only dated him because he had money.

Basically I got to the point where I don't enjoy these clubs like I used to. I don't think that makes me a bad person.

that said, i don't think that "degrading" is really the right word for what johnny's describing. if anything, it's something of a learning experience for the guys who have just slightly less money than howard stern. every time i've been to a strip club (which isn't too many), i've had a good time. but i think it's definitely a different experience for a girl than a guy.

I guess every club is different. Truth be told, if I knew a club I could go to with a friendly/relaxing atmosphere, I'd probably check it out for a change of pace.

In my experience, the dancers are very pleasant. On the other hand, the door staff, waitresses, and bartenders are snotty & rude. Again, this is my experience ; maybe it's different in some places.

I'm fortunate enough that I can treat myself to a night out any time I want. But $12 for a beer? $20 for a shot? That's just silly.

Lap dances are nice with the right girl (wow, that sounds weird). I used to know this Autralian girl, I would joke around with her the whole time ; it was great. So I was pretty much a monogamous customer.

Other girls might be pissed off, and I think I know why. The managers treat them like shit, it puts them in a bad mood, so they take it out on the customer. It's the same way in any profession.

Everyone expects and deserves to be treated with respect. When I was in college, I worked in a nightclub. The management drilled it in our heads over and over again : treat the customers as if they were guests at your own party, and they will come back. And they did, big time.

I don't have the time or patience to go anywhere where they treat you like a scumbag. And I'm not a big fan of the laser light show. If I want that, I'll go to the planetarium.

anybody who goes to a strip club and feels degraded is someone who has expectations that are too high when entering. I've been a small number of times and I go with friends just to hang out and shoot the breeze.

the best two times I can ever remember is (1)when i went with some guy friends and some girl friends, its alot different when you have regular girls there and (2) delilah's den in Philly has a 'stripper of the year' event and they have an open bar and buffet and its all done in a rather classy style, the last time we went we got into the VIP area b/c my buddy was going out with one of the Eagles cheerleader's and we were drinking with Duce Staley

bottom line: If you go to a strip club for anything more than a good time you are more than likely gonna be disappointed
