Now that everthing seems to be coming back "retro", are there any drive-in movie places still in existence? I recall that Newark used to have on where the current multiplex is on 1-9. I remember how there used to be 1 or 2 cars parked on the side of the highway watching the flick.

There's a good one in Warwick, NY. It's a couple of towns north of Vernon, NJ, where Action Park used to be. I go up for a movie a few times every summer. Nice. Bring wine.

there is one on 59 in rockland county but i dont think its been used in years. opening a drive in would prob do huge business now. the whole board should get together and buy that one and reopen it. the screen is there and its just a dirt field
Silent Bob you one rude motherfucker, she like to go down on you, suck you. line up 2 other guys and make like a circus seal

There use to be one near the Willow Grove Air Force Base in Horsham, PA - just outside of Philadelphia. Not sure if it's there anymore. I remember seeing Ghost there with a highschool sweetheart who tore my heart out and threw it in an old rusty paint can and doused it in gasoline and... uh.... well, I'm not sure if it's there anymore. Ahem.

There are 2 that I go to that are just outside of Poughkipsee, New Hyde Park and the overlook. 2 movies for 6 bucks, a cheap bastards dream.

My wife worked at Shankweiler's Drive In when she was in H.S. It's the oldest in the country (I read it was the second built) it's outside of Allentown, in Orefield,PA.

There's one up in New Milford, NJ.
And I saw 1 movie in the 80's at the rt. 59 drive-in, but it's been closed about 10 years. It's in such a bad area that they'll never open it again.

I damn near cried when they got rid of the one in Westbury and replaced it with a regular theater. There's no better way to watch a movie than in an old convertible.

In my younger days we had one in Paramus on Route 4 and one in Little Ferry by the shopping Center. The only one left in this area is in Warwick NY. Boy I miss the days when we hid in trunks or just walked in. Ahhh the good old days......
