Ok, we all know the phrase is "May the force be with you." How come Yoda doesn't say, "With you, may the force be"?

the real answer is cause george lucas wrote him to say it the right way. other than that, i dont think any answer will be knowingly right. that being said jeff, if you translate alot of spanish literally to english its backwards, so i dont think that would do it

may the force be with you is probably an expression translated from an ancient jedi dialect...like yoda wouldn't say cumpleanos feliz...it wouldn't make any sense...

I'm more curious as to how Yoda was able to perform amazing feats of acrobatic combat manuvers without problem, yet as soon as the fight was over, he needed his cane. What's up with that?

yea...that part always got to me. but i think i have an explantion:

It's like when you watch a movie with subtitles and suddenly, they say someting in English- out of nowhere!

That's how it is with Yoda. Sometimes he's assbackwards and sometimes he's completely coherent.

And why would it be "out of character" for yoda to say "may the force be with you?" He's a jedi! He's so old he probably heard the first jedi who made up the phrase.

Nah, it doesn't smell of gay. Geeks are closer to asexual than aything else.

And Yoda uses his cane because It was exhausting for him to use all that energy and he's kinda like a super hero with an alter ego.

Just like in the old trilogy when he came off as an annoying creature and turned out to be one of the most powerful jedi ever.
