Hello everyone

I see that people ask a lot of questions in here so I will ask one too

My old Aunt just got me a Playstation but not the new Playstation 2 the old one that has been out for a long time

but she told my mom and dad that she spent like almost 200 dollars on just that! there were no games with it and she told them that a salesperson in the store told her it was the best new system and that I'd love it

Now my Aunt was really nice and I know she lives on a small ammout of money but should I give it back to her and tell her that its really not worth all the money she paid?

I don't want her to think I don't appreciate her gift but I know she got ripped off and Id like to see her go back to the store where she bought it and complain and hopefully get her money back

but a fe years ago I gave her back a sweater that was too small for me and she got really upset and thought I didn't like it but it just didn't fit

Thank you for listening

She totally got ripped, you need to tell her you could get it much cheaper at GameStop. You could get PS2 for that much, plus a game at this point.

Yeah, you better tell her she got ripped the fuck off.

And you should go with her to bring it back and tear the shit out of the jerk who sold it to her.

explain to her that this shop took advantage of her. and that for less money than she paid ($180 vs $200) she could get you "the best new system" and that a psone goes for $60 now.

then shoplift a game from that store for being scumbags.

You should offer to go with her back to the store because she totally got ripped off. You can probably find a used PS1 for under 100.00 in some stores

Thanks everyone and thanks Ed

that's a really good idea if I go back with her to explain it

I just have that memory of how upset she was about my last gift and Im not sure how to explain the fact that she was sold an old system for like twice the price

She may get really upset just when I explain to her that got ripped off by someone there

at least I can be pretty sure she has the receipt because old people never throw things away!

I guess I really know what I have to do Im just afraid of how my aunt will react

Any chance that somebody sold it to her for $60-$80, but told her that the original price was $200. She in turn, thought she was getting a great deal, and embelished what she paid for it so it was more in line with the "original price." Is $200 out of line with what she usually spends on gifts for you?

Yeah...Return the damn thing. Then get a gun or something and shoot the dick that sold the PS1 to her.

I don't think she was trying to make it sound like she spent more than she did and I don't see her that much so she wanted to make up for a few birthdays and Christmases she missed

Im pretty sure that she actually told my mom and dad what she spent but I guess I cant be sure

now thats another reason why I might feel bad if I tell her but I dont think that happened

Since one (one being me) would assume that she told your folks how much she spent on your gift in confidence, perhaps it would be better to let your parents break the news to her that she may have gotten ripped off. After that, if she truly paid the dough and has a receipt, you can offer to accompany her to the store to tell em off and make sure you get her moneys worth.
