Statement regarding Roddy Piper</n>

Since March 31, 2003, World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc. ("WWE") and Roderick Toombs, p/k/a "Roddy Piper", have attempted to negotiate the terms of an arrangement for Roddy to appear on WWE programming through August of this year. The parties have been unable to reach a mutually acceptable agreement.

On Tuesday, June 24, Piper appeared on an HBO program and revealed disturbing facts about his own personal drug use. Piper stated that he used drugs for many years while working in professional wrestling and that he does not like the person that he becomes when he actively performs as a professional wrestler.

In view of WWE's inability to reach agreement on a contract and to assist Piper from engaging in any self destructive behavior, the WWE is ending any further discussion with Piper regarding a contract.

The WWE sincerely hopes for Piper and his family that Roddy can find happiness.

$10 he's on TNA next week ripping Vince.

Why was piper tryin to get back in the WWE anyway? I bought his book and he talked about how much he thought vince was an a-hole and that wrestling today is corrupted and he would never join the WWE again. What's goin on?

I'm only here to disappoint. And bash the hell outta Infinity Broadcasting. That whore of a company...

And... where's the part where we're supposed to be shocked? Does Vince think everyone forgot about the steroid trials, or does he just wish they did?

Ah, this here's the key.

Vince must be REALLY pissed off about that HBO special. Doesn't exactly make the WWE look good.

The unfortunate thing about this is that Sean O'Haire is now left probably with nothing to do.

It's not like the Eddie/Tajiri/O'Haire/Piper storyline was going anywhere good. Just put him in the US Title hunt and see if he can make it alone.

Did you see that interview? it was a pretty big hatchet job on Vince tho. He tried to knock the papers out of Armen Keteyian's hands. But the big thing i think that may have pissed him off the most was when in the expose someone bought up the word Vince hates and fears more than anything...

Unionization.

Piper says he's got no pension and no retirement plan, so he basically was doing it cause he needed the money. he said the only pension he was getting was when he turned 65 and he said he wasn't going to make it to 65. He also gave some very lurid details about his drug life.

Well that explains that movie he made. God I hated those sunglasses he wore in it.

"They Live" is a great cult classic.

I haven't seen the Real Sports special, but I heard that it makes everyone of us wrestling fans look bad by association.

Vince McMahon.....never has there been another who has done more for, and against, the business of professional wrestling.....

Well, Piper is scheduled to appear on The Radio Chicks show tonight, if she gets all of the right information to ask him it could be a good interview.

No one should really be surprised over this as they have said since they filmed the interview, Vince wanted heavy editing done on it. Apparenly Vince doesn't always get his way. I am glad Piper didn't just change his opinions because he was employed by Vince. Thank god someone in Professional Wrestling isn't a hypocrite.

If Piper is not a hypocrite he never should have come back to work for Vince in the first place.

the Radio Chick is on at night now? when did that happen...actually i don't care to know.

i could care less about Piper leaving. this is good news to me for O'Haire. hopefully they go back to the gimmick he started when he first came back and actually run with it this time. the clips they were showing i really enjoyed.

If Piper is not a hypocrite he never should have come back to work for Vince in the first place. It's easy to pass judgement when you don't know a man's financial situation.

You know, I just recently read Shaun Assael's book, and I have to say.....even though that book may be slightly slanted.....I'm really starting to believe that Vince is truly evil.

I'm being honest here. I really think there is something so innately sinister and wrong in the man that it can only be accurately defined in modern definitions of morality as "evil".

Maybe he wants to run the company like the mafia. What goes on in the family, stays in the family. Not doing a good job at it though. :|

Vince had to get rid of him. Strictly from a business standpoint he couldn't allow anything to affect the productivity of his product and strictly from a business standpoint I can't blame him. But he's not nor has he ever been a wrestler and for him to shut down Roddy because he was telling it like it was for him as a WRESTLER and not from the safe haven of being a promoter sucks major ass.

Piper was a fat asshole. He deserved to be fired. He hates the business. He did not even try to get in shape when he came back. He talked to no one in the back and kept to himself. Goodbye and don't let the door hit you on the way out.
