i know there is like 500 topics on this but i honestly cannot take it anymore.

he's had the belt since september, a belt that was handed to him, after he lost the previous ppv to hbk.

and he never loses it? great he loses it for a month to his best friend. but every ppv he fights a guy, there's no ending because of a dq, and then the next ppv he beats them anyway sending there character into oblivion.

and there are 3 times where people would have died to see him lose (at least 3 i mean) his match with rvd, his match with flair on raw, and last night with kane.

the crowd was SO into these matches, only to be dissapointed once again. it would have been the best if flair won on raw, or if kane did it last night. it would be so much more interesting and fun to watch, but we have to watch the same boring shit every time.

i can't fucking take this power trip anymore, he's the worst thing in wreslting and he's killing the business. i think i will fully boycot all of this matches from now on, and not just because he sucks as a wrestler now.

granted, i'm a 'casual' wrestling fan compared to you all, but i used to watch raw and smackdown religiously or i'd tape them. the first time he had the belt FOREVER is really when i lost interest. and now that he has the belt again, let's just say i don't really watch at all anymore.

Who is this?

-A guy who held the title over 15 times.
-A guy who refused to job to countless challengers.
-A guy who is thrashed by many in the business as being HEAVILY into backstage politics.
-A guy who made sure his friends were shown in the limelight in the uppercard.
-A guy who refused to work programs with certain people b/c he felt they weren't over or ready...regardless of what the bookers thought.
-A guy who held the title for YEARS on end, only occassionally dropping the strap to a plucky challenger before winning it back.

Anyone know who i am talking about.

That would be Ric Flair. I think HHH has done more to elevate the fake Heavyweight championship than anyone. When he finally loses and yes he will lose, will make the title switch that much sweeter.

Look at the challengers he has had.

RVD-Love him but seriously he is basically a stoner who does good high spots. IC title yes, Heavyweight title No.

Kane-A good challenger to title, but not a good champ.

Scott Steiner-Good as a Heel, Bad as a face, Bad as a champ.

Kevin Nash- HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

Booker T- Could have made a good champ and he is over with the crowd.

ric flair knew how to put people over, and he was champ forever but at least he entertained the fans. plus that was different time, it's hard to compare to today's wrestling because it's so different.

i am not entertained by hhh, he never puts over anyone but himself, and the reason any of the contenders you mentioned don't have a chance is because they are not written that way.

you don't think they could make a storyline that would put rvd over as a main eventer?

if you missed raw the crowd went nuts when kane was about to win, a bad ass kane as champ is much more interesting than hhh any day.

you are correct about booker t

A champ in WWE has to speak and cut promos. See the rock, Austin, HHH, Kurt Angle, Bret hart, HUlk Hogan. RVD cannot talk. Dude, How's it hanging. I would not want any of those guys as champ.

See bad champs Kane, Big Show.

See good on talent but bad on mic: Brock lesnar

If the champ was anyone but HHH you would not have a problem. Having Steiner or Nash as champ would be 100x worse than HHH could ever be.

You forgot to add, made people look good. Flair was a chickenshit heel who had CONSTANT interference, countouts, DQ's, and other sorted ways escaping with his skin. The faces were stronger for the chases. HHHIV insists on glooming each and every possible bit of heat from his opponents, and they don't look good losing to him. He fucks the bosses daughter, so he can run roughshod. Be it retiring Foley(which is acceptable, because THAT should have cemented his legacy and given HHHIV the rub he needed). But that wasn't good enough. He beats Austin at the 2 out of 3 falls match before Austin won Wrestlemania 18. Never let the people forget who's number one. And then in turn, he somehow becomes the top heel and has Austin as his lackey after Austin did the unthinkable and SIDED WITH MR. MCMAHON. Did Austin need HHH there? Do you think he asked to be with HHH? Thankfully this son of a bitch blew out his knee, and when he comes back, he should have been the monster face against all odds. God knows he was pushed that way. He gets the main event against the Canadian in Skydome and WINS THE UNIFIED TITLE. But the greatest part of that was the constant stream of crowd LEAVING during the match, as the real main event, Rock vs. Hogan had already gone down. Do you think anyone would leave, nevermind numbers great enough to be seen from 1/4 mile away on TV would have walked out if Austin, Foley, Rock, Hogan, Hart, Michaels, Flair, etc. had been coming off surgery to win a unified championship? Think the fuck again. HHH no doubt loves to consider himself in that elevated pantheon, but the truth is, Shane Douglas would do more with his slot if he had the foresight to fuck Vince's fat daughter. He has to job the unified belt to the obviouisly over Hogan, making sure to keep heat by doing the hug and posedown with the Hulkster. And then he gets a title created for his lame ass, while the rest of us hit the snooze bar. To quote the great Al Dukes "We we we boring". So now, in a monumental moment, what could have been the focus of three PPV's, HHHIV gets the duke over Kane and unmasks him. Again, why? Why not build this up and make some money? Who cares that he was unmasked right now? And where was the heat. The much stronger interum angle would have been the old Midnight Rider bit, where Kane wins, but if forced to unmask if he wants the belt, thus foreiting the title back to HHHIV. That keeps everyone strong. I don't blame HHHIV for protecting his spot, but when everyone is strong, everyone wins. That was the philosphy when the company had the last boom period. Everyone but Austin did jobs, but he did more jobs than HHHIV. But his character was stronger as the underdog. He didn't exactly sit on the title for as long as HHHIV. At least he was chasing the belt. Ah fuck this guy already.

That would be Ric Flair.

You're neglecting to mention a few facts which distinguish Flair from HHH.

Flair was always:

1) Over (HHH is not - and hasn't been for a long time now).
2) Talented (From mike skills to ring skills to selling to the old proverbial broomstick - Flair is one of the best of all time. Old, past his prime Flair of today runs rings around HHH.)
3) An actual draw (HHH hasn't drawn a dime for the WWE in at least 3 years)

[I'd say that a fourth point is that at least Flair's friends - like Arn Anderson - were, you know, talented, as opposed to Nash or Waltman.]

I think HHH has done more to elevate the fake Heavyweight championship than anyone. When he finally loses and yes he will lose, will make the title switch that much sweeter.

I disagree. Here's your radio psychic prediction: whenever HHH loses that title (if he does - I'm wondering if he's going for a Thesz or Sammartino style run where he holds the belt for a few YEARS), he will do it in a way that makes his opponent look pitifully weak.

Look at the challengers he has had.

RVD-Love him but seriously he is basically a stoner who does good high spots. IC title yes, Heavyweight title No.

RVD has serious flaws as a worker, but frankly, he's NO WORSE than HHH is in his current state. And there is an important thing to remember here: during the Invasion, RVD was so goddamn over that he was main eventing a PPV within about 4 months of his debut. People would have bought him as champ EASY. He would have been an honest to god draw. But, of course, after his match last fall with HHH, he was jobbed out and stuck in the tag ranks, so he's virtually finished.

Kane-A good challenger to title, but not a good champ.

He wouldn't make a worse champ than HHH, or Lesnar during his first run for that matter. But this is moot, because Kane's career was almost destroyed with Katie Vick, and was finally put out of its misery last night.

Scott Steiner-Good as a Heel, Bad as a face, Bad as a champ.

Kevin Nash- HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

The problem with both of them was that they're just awful workers now. So is HHH, but he's not quite on the level of those two. You can't put the title on men THAT bad. Which HHH knows. Why do you think he's been feuding with them?

Booker T- Could have made a good champ and he is over with the crowd.

And we have a winner. There is NO GOOD REASON why Booker T didn't win the title at WM. For a month prior to the match he was portrayed by HHH as unworthy of his time (how's THAT for building up a star?), with HHH using thinly-veiled racial insults, and what was the payoff? Nothing. Booker T loses, and HHH moves off to feud with Nash for 384 months (or so it seems).

Booker T should be champ.....but instead he's just another demolished challenger.

Your argument for HHH would be better if it were not for the fact that HHH totally destroys and discredits ALL of his challengers to the point that they CAN'T challenge him for the title again.

Good points se7en, but if I could further vouch for RVD. I've been to a few house shows in the last few years, granted ECW hotbeds, but those chants have waned, and RVD has consistently drawn the biggest pops of ANYONE, save Hogan. He's got a Macho Man energy, circa 1985-7, when the smarks know who THE man is, and the marks would buy hook line and sinker with a modicum of a push.

I've said it before: If HHH could entertain me I wouldn't care how long he held the belt but he's such a black hole and he pulls everyone around him in with him. Flair was always funny and in the ring everything he did was done well. Flair is/was a wrestler. HHH is an over rated brawler. It's really sad that someone so overwhelmingly mediocre CONSTANTLY gets referred to as the best in the business. Oh and Flair having held the title 16 times means he jobbed at least 17.

A few missing things in the HHH/Flair comparison. 1.) the fact that not once in Flairs career did he stop putting people over. 2.) after several career threatening injurys, Flair came back just as well if not better as before the injury. 3.) Even when he was beating people to hold the strap, he made them look fantastic. Key feuds: Terry Funy, Sting, Steamboat just to name a few. No one tried harder to make someone look better in the ring than Flair. And just another point of having his friends in the limelight. When did you ever see Arn or Ole Anderson, Tully Blanchard or any other horsemen with a title higher than the TV Title? Never.

Excellent point. Out of all those candidates, Booker was the one I expected to win the title but, alas, it was not meant to be. Booker will get his time as champ but I think HHH has a belief that unless he's heavyweight champion, he has no reason to be there. What he fails to realize is that although it can be a good move to have a long term with the title, it makes for more entertaining television when it switches owners from time to time. And with the loss of interest in the WWE rising, someone like Vince should take it upon himself to safeguard his product anyway he can. HHH's ego should not be a factor.

I believe that the longer he has it, the harder it will be for him to give it up. While I don't fault the man for thinking of his own personal gain, its a smart businessman who seizes opportunities that will sell his product and make it better. I don't think HHH has learned that yet. And if he has, he doesn't think it applies to him cuz he's banging the boss' baby girl.

I'm sure a lot of this hatred for HHH stems from no real viable alternatives to the WWE. We keep bitching about HHH because he's what Vince gives us. He's the #1 heel he's the champ he's fucking Stephanie. We;re not being given anything else and too much of anything sucks ass. Unfortunatley Vince, now that he basically rules American mainstream wrestling with an iron fist will never allow anything other than what he puts out to be on TV. I would love to see a wrestling channel on cable. I mean there's the goddamn food network, there's fucking animal planet and I know for a fact that there's more than enough wrestling in the world to put on for 24 hours a day. Japanese wrestling, lucha libre, mixed martial arts, I mean there's tons of shit out there but so long as Vince Mchmahon continues to be god all we have are tape websites, the internet, and ever week on TV, HHH.
