HA! Look at me with the dot dot dot bullshit!
Anyway, I live in an apartmant, and the A/C just happens to be mounted in my wall. It's a large unit that puts out many thousands of BTU's. It's meant to blow out of my room and slowly cool off the entire main section of our apartment.
Now here is my problem. I'm going to use it when it's humid like tonight, but I can;t hear my goddamn TV!!! AAAAAAAAAAAARRRGH!!!!!
So what can I do?! I know I can read or play a video game or post, but what happens when that one show is on I really want to see and I need to have the air on?! This is my dilemma all summer.
Not that TV is that great to begin with, but it just seems that I do start to miss it when I can't watch it. I'm like a kid who doesn't want a toy until you're going to take it away completely.

The A/C is on low. It's a large machine and is just loud. I can't turn it up loud because that will keep my parents up. It's an apartment.
As for a phone jack, It's kind of an old TV and doesn't have one. Even if it did, I don't have a long enough cord on a set of headphones.

Since you apparantly cannot have both the AC and TV on simultaneously here are a few suggestions.
You could watch in the living room until you want to go to sleep, then sleep with the AC on.
Or you could leave the AC off while you watch TV in bed, then turn TV off and AC on when you get sleepy.
Or, you could look for a new tv, with better sound, perhaps a system with 5.1 sound, so you could put one of the speakers near your bed.
Or, you could buy a new quiter and probably more energry efficient ac.
Or you could but a TV watchman.

The AC in my room must be 20 years old, have had it forever. Its so loud that I also have to turn it off sometimes while watching TV.
My buddy has a small one that works well, has a remote and turns off itself when the room hits the degree he wants. I'm so jealous!

First I was thiking that you should just turn the AC off when you wanna watch TV but then I felt the my AC blowing on me and felt how great it was and how great the air is when it's all sticky and hot out.
I dont have this problem because my air is quiet, and my computer, TV and AC are all in a span of 6 feet.
So really, I have no solution for you and your AC problem.

Well, thanks to everyone who offered real solutions. I don't have CC on this old TV.
And Def Dave, shut up. Elipse this.

A Skidmark production.
On a side note about AC's, is it possible to get sick from having one blow on you directly? Or ever for that mater a simple fan. My grandmother once said I could catch a cold from a fan, I never believed her but alays wondered if it was true
