It's about that time of year, and after many rainy weekends, I figure there should be a lot of quality at flea markets for the next little bit, given they haven't been operating at full strength.

What are the prime area flea markets? And I"m looking for items that are more akin to basement junk than the discount retailers selling 6 sponges for a dollar. I"ve been to Giants Stadium, but it's hit and miss in my book. I went to the Columbus flea market in central jersey, but it's a LONG ride(nestled as far as you can be from the Parkway, Turnpike or 295) and I"m looking for other ones as great as Columbus. My main focus is picking up used DVD's, but I'm all about a bargain at all times.

where do you guys go?

Yonkers Raceway used to have a pretty big market on the weekends. A few bucks for parking and that was it. Not sure if it's still there since I moved from the Bronx a few years ago but it's worth checking out.

Damn, I really miss the old Brooklyn flea markets like Ceasars Bay Bazarre and the Avenue I flea market.

I don't know of any on LI. There used to be a place called the farmer's market in bethpage, but that burned down in the 80's.
