Every time it rains heavily, my directv craps out. It was off for about 15 minutes. does anybody else have this poblem with directv?

Kinda makes you think when the #1 rapper is white and the #1 golfer is black

Is your dish tilted too much and as a result, collecting rainwater?

i've had the problem only 2 or 3 times in 3 years. but tonight was one of those times. it is really raining hard with a ton of thunder and lightning. i expected things to be worse when i bought the dish, but have been happy with the results overall in bad weather.

if there's really heavy cloud cover, the dish won't get the signal, it used to happen to me all the time when i had directtv. I've had no problems whatsoever with digital cable.

my directv has the same problem. only it happens when it snows heavy too. but this was the first year i experienced that. also i live rite near JFK, so every flight coming in from europe gets my directv to show funny for like a second.
but i cant get digital cable in my area, so im happy with satellite.

the signal comes from space, so if theres some thick-ass cloud cover, you wont get a signal. still, i'd take this over being gouged by the cable monopoly any day.
