View Full Version : What Browser do you use?
I used to love internet explorer. It was fast and easy until they came along. Those damn pop-ups were flooding my computer. I couldn't stop them even with pop-up blockers. They were even installing search/tool bars and open all porn and search sites.
So I finall gave up IE and now I use this great new browser MozillaFirebird. I highly recommend it.
so whats everyone else using?

I'm all for choices, but I never understood the Explorer bashing on this site. I've used it as long as I've had a comp and have had no problems that I can remember.
I have IE 6 I think. It's whavever came with XP.

Mozilla 1.2 on Linux
IE is crap on stick. A browser should not be a gateway of installing software. It lacks tabbed browsings. Mozilla
has a great javascript debugger. enough of my ramblings

I'm on a Mac, and still running the ancient OS 9.1, because
OS X doesn't do well on my two-year old computer (and I
just couldn't get used to it after over a decade of basically
the same OS).
I use IE most of the time. I use it to post here because
Netscape is just too damn slow. But if I want to post a
picture, or make a change to my sigpic, I have to use
Netscape. Ugh. They both suck.
I was looking forward to upgrading my OS X and starting to
use Safari as per Too Cute's suggestion. But now she's back
to IE and Netscape, too, due to the changes in the board.
Come on, Mac users are people, too! I never have these
problems elsewhere.

Avant Browser is faster than IE and it blocks pop-ups. Also it works with IE so all of your favorites transfer over and its free. I highly recomend it.

GS - I have a three year old powerbook with a 400MHz
G3processer and 320 MB RAM - if I can run OS X, I'm sure you
can!! If your computer is two years old, it can't be slower than
mine, and if the only problem is RAM, that's easy enough to fix
:)
at the very least you shold download the update for OS 9 to get
to OS 9.2! (you might need to download two updates - 0s 9.2.1
then 9.2.2) - and you can still keep os 9 even after switching to
os x :)

Internet Explorer 6.0, with Popup Stopper and Norton Internet Security. So no popups and most advertisments are gone.

IE 6.0, popup stopper and a customized filtered spam list.
I get no popups, very few spams and with my cable modem loading a page is almost instantaneous.

A question to mac users. Do you notice when viewing this page through Safari, you have to reload the page before new threads/posts appear?
<img src="http://homepage.mac.com/furie1335/.Pictures/rfsigs/SimpPulp.jpg" height=100 width=300">
nope haven't noticed but really haven't been on this page with safari, or on a mac for that matter... anyways
just wanted to say that I'm excited that 3 of my threads are up today and doing good. I rule. its a long time coming

Solution: Use Camino.
Fastest, least buggy browser on the Mac.
Windows equivalent: FireFox.

Mozilla Firefox (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) Essentially its a stripped down version of the original Mozilla (no e-mail programs and stuff). Built in pop up blocker, tabbed browsing, and quick as hell. It changed the way I surf.
Theres no reason anyone is using a different browser. Its open source-Windows, Mac, Linux. There is not a single better browser available on the net, and at this point using IE is just embarassing.

Furie, I agree... It took me some time to warm up to Camino, but once I did, I couldn't go back to anything else. Try customizing the toolbar, just to get cozy.

2) IE 6 fucking sucks. It pisses me off and I switch to Mozilla but I keep coming back to it like the bitch that I am.
I can't believe anyone actually has the strength to get rid of IE.
