I always looked at STP as a one trick pony. Core was excellent and is deserving of a Top 10 bid but Purple and Tiny Music were such huge letdowns for me. Something just never clicked with either of those. Same thing (gulp!) goes with Pearl Jam. It is like they blew their wad on Ten and then everything after that was just Tupperware. I found it emotionless and disheartening. They did regain a little bit with Vitalogy but no where NEAR Ten.

I think that Pearl Jam Vs was a good album. But I agree otherwise that they never came close to the sound of Ten.

I remember when VS came out and I was really anticipating it and how as the record went on, it kept feeling like I was getting punched in the stomach, By the time "Lonely Woman" and "Daughter" had played, I WAS coughing up blood.
Remember how MTV had hyped during the Summer that there would be NEW Pearl Jam video in the Fall and then PJ stiffed MTV and didn't make a video. I thought THAT was classy. Also how being a major label band and that vinyl was in its dying days as far as major labels go, PJ released a few 7 inches off VS and then Vitalogy respectively. I always liked them keeping it real even though they may have lost some talent along the way.

I enjoyed the blue Weezer album...good alterna-pop stuff..."Pinkerton" would probably squeeze onto my ten best list here if I can ever get around to making up my mind...but Weezer's last too albums have been poot. It would be harder to find anything more soulless.

I narrowed my list down to 66 and even that was a pain in the ass. How can one separate any 10 albums and truly put them in any order or even just to separate them as having one better than the other? Kind of like picking the favorite child. Maybe I am just being too picky here but when it comes down to having to pick it gets damn tough.
Color me officially undecided.
