Grant Fuhr, the best goalie of the 1980's on the best team of the 1980's =) has been inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame yesterday, according to the hall of fame; Grant is the first black member. Others include former Sabre and Ranger Pat Lafontaine, Mike Ilitch and Brian Kilrea.
For the more in-detph story: Check it out mang, Oilers rule. (http://espn.go.com/nhl/news/2003/0611/1566498.html)

Congrats go out to Pat Lafontaine, the DOn Mattingly of the Islanders. Just too bad he couldnt be part of the greatest dynasty in the NHL, that being the 80-83 Islanders. Congrats to the coke head Grant Fuhr too, good luck with your problem dude.
Mad props to Fluff for the sig and C.O.soup for hosting!

Lafontaine could've been a much better player had it not been for injuries. The Hockey Hall of Fame sems a little bit tainted after inducting Clark Gilles last year. Don't get me wrong, as an Islanders fan, I really like Gilles. But I don't think he was Hall of Fame material.

Well, if that's the case, put in Bobby Nystrom and Butch Goring.

LaFontaine is a great guy. I had the pleasure of going fishing with him in Montauk a couple of years back. Really down to earth. LaFontaine had 468 goals and 545 assists in 865 career games. He had his best season in 1992-93, totaling 53 goals and 95 assists. He was the third American with 1,000 career points. I dont see how its tainted with him being there.
