Stupid move by Torre

Taking Clemens out of the fame today vs the cubs was a bad move. Torre should have had more faith in a 6 time cy young award winner to pitch himself out of a jam. it was 1 out w/ runners on 1st and 2nd. Clemens also had a low pitch ount. Joe Torre taking Clemens out...No Good!!!

He is sick. He has an upper respretory (sp?)infection. He has weak and was having a hard time breathing.

Now do we really think Torre would take out Clemens after 84 pitches if he was fine? I hope not.

J. Wadd is correct, this is what is being reported. In fact, Clemens did not speak with the media after the game due to his apparent illness.

However, it does seem odd since Clemens was obviously pissed when he got pulled from the game. He didn't seem to be huffing and puffing, but this is what the Yankees own PR Department told the media.

Regardless, don't be surprised if Torre resigns this summer. Steinbrenner is up to his old tricks, wreaking havoc on the theory that this motivates the ballclub. There was no need to acquire Ruben Sierra. Rumor has it that the Boss did this just to irk Torre.

I would like to see clemens at least stay in there untill he lost it or won it. I don't put much stock in the bullpen, especially that god awful acevedo. Now we know why weaver and him belong on Detroit.

If he was sick and couldn't finish it then thats one thing, but I really don't think he should of been taken out. He's big boy, he could of made it throught the 8th.
