Well, the DVD boys have published their latest version of the DVD 500, listing who they think are the 500 best workers out there.
http://deathvalleydriver.com/June03500update.html
I post this in here because the lists are always fun, and they generally spark debate.
Check out the list, and post any thoughts you have in here! Upset that one of your favorites got ranked low? Don't know who half of these people are? Post here and let's bitch about it. ;)

Jack Victory # 118????
Not even in his prime, 15 years ago, was a he a top 250 worker, and now somewhere in his early 40's, he's #118. Puh-leeze.
I can't really comment since I knew so few on the list, I was pleasantly suprised to see C.W. Anderson #66, but I must question that ranking based on Victory's . And no way Benoit is still that high. When does he get to prove this fabled work rate? In 4 minute smackdown matches?

474) A-Train
why is he even ranked? He's a huge hairball with a bald head. his wrestling skills are only known to me as kick, throw, punch, punch, choke, baldo bomb. that isn't worth a rank

The disclaimer with the DVD list is that, of course, it's entirely subjective. Thus, some of the DVD boys personal favorites have made it fairly high up the list.
Victory is so high because, as DEAN~! Rasmussen explains, he sells at least as well as Chuck Palumbo but with better punches. Or maybe it's better selling, same type punches. I forget.
And no way Benoit is still that high. When does he get to prove this fabled work rate? In 4 minute smackdown matches?
Lately Benoit hasn't been given much to work with, but he deserves to be ranked so high on the strength of his RR match with Angle alone.

I would agree, but he has his fans amongst the DVD crew.

Angle is NOT on the list, because the DVD crew make it a rule to not include on the list those individuals who are injured at the time the list is created (it's only fair to the rest of the workers. This is why, for example, you don't see Toshiaki Kawada's name on the list. If he was healthy & wrestling, he'd be ranked pretty high).
Chris Jericho is #50.
Brock is #124.
I personally am pleased that Am. Dragon got the number 1 spot. It's justified.

73) Homicide (JAPW)
i didn't pick up on this name earlier, but now that i'm awake nd see this, it seems good. Homicide ranked above brock. this is a good list after all
38) Chavo Guerrero Jr.
he's injured, why is he on the list and angle is not. he has been injured for a little while now, and the thing says the list was updated 6/3. it makes no sense

Well, then I"m able to swallow it a bit more easily. But I have issues still with Ric Flair coming in at 395, but so long as they weren't looking to achieve some objectivity, I can deal.

Keep in mind, Chavo was injured a couple weeks or so (seems longer, though, don't it?) before the list was compiled, whereas Angle has been out for a few months.
Any list that has Reckless Youth, Chris Hamrick, and Steve Corino in the top 100, and includes Dr. Heresy (#355) is A-OK in my book.

These lists are pointless. All it does is gives internet marks a reason to argue at each other.

I would bet if Ric Flair had hung them up at least 5 years ago, he would be WAY higher on the list. I am glad that Hogan, Trips, Nash, Taker, Goldberg, and the rest of the old fart crew are not on there!
I love Benoit, but #3 is a little much. Again, because he hasn't really done a whole hell of alot lately. Thanks Vince!:(

I agree that Chris Benoit should be be so high. He really hasn't accomplished all that much recently. Sadly, it's starting to show in his matches. He seems to be losing the desire.

The reason Flair was so far down on the list is because a) he's not a full-time wrestler anymore - only lately, since Orton & Batista were injured, had he stepped back into the ring, so his performances were sporadic at best. And in those matches, most of which were tag matches with Trips, while Flair can still go (and was able to carry HHH to a good match a couple weeks back on RAW), he's largely relegated to playing the Ricky Morton role, i.e., the faces beat the shit out of him the entire match, leaving HHH to look strong standing on the ring apron. And notice how Flair is almost always the one who does the job in those matches. Thus, he's not really allowed to shine, and as a result, is lower down on the list.
I love Benoit, but #3 is a little much. Again, because he hasn't really done a whole hell of alot lately. Thanks Vince!
The range of this list goes back through the past 6 months, so some of the great matches between the SD6 are covered in that time frame. Thus, I think the high ranking is justified, even though they've lately been forcing him to put other guys over (ever notice how when they need to put guys like Cena over, it's Benoit who's called in to make them look good, but when it comes to Benoit going over big it's "not his time yet"?)
Remember what Dibiase says: the one thing you don't want to be in this business is a good wrestler, because they'll use you to put the untalented guys over.
