I really think that there should be some sort of mandated screening for anyone who wishes to have kids.

Why and how anyone would get pregnant when they don't want kids, is beyond me. There are way too many forms of contraception and there is no limit on how many you can use at one time... (pill+condom+spermicide...for example)

I deal with so many unfit parents at my job...It's ridiculous...

Is it just me, or is "Why are you fucking cursing in school?" a bad response to getting a note from your child's teacher stating that your child uses profanity in school????

Here's the solution.

Legalize Abortion in every state and keep assholes like that Rudolph guy away from them so women won't feel scared to go near a clinic. No threats. No religious protestors.

An unwanted child should NOT be born. I think a fetus IS a human at every stage and I still think abortion is a good thing.

As for your mandate. Who would decide? Who would set the rules? It's just like that Tax question. Who has the right to set limits? You? Elected officials? Clergy? Therapists and other mental health professionals?

Now I understand what you're saying. You look at a lot of parents and wonder WHY in the hell they ever had kids. They can't take care of themselves. But as a man who was born to young parents, I can say that it can work if you're willing to work at it. Your problem is more with the breakdown of Family values in our country than regulating reproduction.

At my last job ... I worked with so many young welfare Moms. Ugh! It was a crappy retail job.

There was this one girl .. around 25 ... who kept trying for kids. Then she got pregnant, smoked during the whole pregnancy, and now wants more kids.

And the reason I know she is on welfare is because one day we were talking about kids, and I said, "Kids are so expensive aren't they?" And she said, "Well, I'm on Medicaid, so I don't have to pay."

I wanted to punch this bitch out! I am so pissed we are all paying for these kids!

And her sister works there too. And she is younger and has a kid, and is on Medicaid, and gets FREE day care! WTF!

This is a topic that really pisses me off!!!

Why: when a man's sperm reaches a wonas egg, conception happens. In about 9 months that union of sperm and egg (zygote) grows into a fully formed baby and it comes out of the woman via the birth canal.

Christy, don't ever think that people on Medicaid don't pay. I am on medicaid, because i am very sickly, and will be for the rest of my life. When i went on medicaid, they emptied my bank account, took my bar mitzvah bonds, took everything that was in my name. i am allowed a ceiling of 500$ a month. That means that if i make more than 500 a month, the rest goes to medicaid. I cannot afford an apartment on 500 a month. Yes, we pay.

A fetus isn't a baby until it develops cognative ability. this happen i guess around like 3 or 4 months, right? i dont know exactly. abortion sucks, but sometimes its better. why give a live baby a shitty life, and F urs up? i am christian and belive that these fetuses go to better place ne way, if they have cognative ability, and are simply a "manual miscarriage" otherwise.

i know i'd ask a girl to have an abortion if i got her pregnant right now... i can't pay for the child, my parents wont and it would wreck my life... so F that. the kid would be all messed up.

i agree that alot of people that are having kids just well...shouldn't. Abortion and adoption are always solutions to this problem. Yes, I said problem, children/ pregnancy is a problem. Some people deal with it in a realistic way (yes we want the child and we can afford it or no we don't and we can afford to get rid of it)and some people don't (we can't afford it, but what the hell let's create more trailer trash...why not) which is why we should always equip these people with either shop vacs or wire coat hangers....that is if they can't afford a standard DNC at the local women's center.
