Has the novelty of Interleague play worn off??

How many times are you going to re-wind to an old World Series that many fans don't remember anymore?? This years sees a replay of the 1984 World Series between San Diego and Detroit, the two worst teams in their respected leagues.

And does anyone think this takes away any credibility and magic from previous All Star Games and World Series'?? I think it's time we said goodbye to re-hashed World Series and "Subway Series'" no matter what friggin state it's in.

It may take a little away from the all-star game and world series but I think interleague is still a good thing. Sure, tampa bay vs pittsburg might suck but Mets/Yankees and White Sox/Cubs make up for it. And if it was regular league play, you would still see Tampa Bay vs. Detroit which isnt much better.

The fans like it because attendance is higher for these games so that makes it a good thing. And I do like seeing certain AL teams at Shea.

I like it. To me, it's no different than Eastern Conference and Western Conference teams in the NBA playing each other during the regular season. Besides, it's a chance to see teams you might not otherwise see come to town.

The only thing I don't like is that they don't seem to mix up the teams that play each other during interleague play. It always seems to be the same combos.

this has always struck me as "what the F"... when you played Little League, High School, and College(?) a pitchers always hits... it's called "being a baseball player"... too much fucking "specializing" in the Pro's...

they should put a timeclock on the time between pitches too, maybe 10 seconds)... i don't want to see a guy circle the mound, grab his nuts, or fix his gloves between each and every pitch...

other than that "interleague" is fine with me...

Ive always liked interleague play. Instead of another 3/4 weeks of the Yanks playing the Tigers and Texas and Cleveland, I get to see new and interesting matchups.

Also, the fact that there is only like 3 or 4 weeks of interleague play is good because the effect of it doesnt wear off. Its a nice change from seeing your team play the same old teams from their same old league.

Please, its rediculous that pitchers dont have to play baseball. Also, with a DH, many people are being brought up solely to hit homers.

It is much more interesting when everybody bats and everybody fields. I find slugfests boring personally. I like the slow pace and low scoring of your traditional baseball game. It is soo much more exciting when its like 2-1 in the 8th or 9th. Every at bat counts, and runs have been hard to come by. How is it worth it to be able to leave the game in the 6th knowing the outcome of a game?

Plus, if I'm paying 25+ bucks just for 1 ticket, i want to stay there for 3 hours and get my money's worth.

that's part of the reason that i have no problem with interleague play......because there really shouldn't be "interleague". Baseball has gone so far to make it so that the AL and NL are seen as equals that there shouldn't be DH's anymore (or if the MLB is so committed to scorefests, allow the NL to have DH's too). Edgar Martinez is a good hitter, but i think it has hurt the Mariners to have an unstable lineup in NL parks because they never taught him how to play a position. He should've learned 3rd or 1st or RF like everyone in the NL has to do.
