Today, June 3, is the MLB first year player draft.
How did your team do? The Pirates Blew it. They have plenty of young pitching that gets better and better every year. They need fielders, especially outfielders. I have a hard time believing that Reggie Sanders and Kenny Lofton will be back next year.
I hope all teh other teams did worse than the pirates

As usual, the Red Sox chose to ignore the need for pitching and drafted another guy "who can hit well in Fenway." I thought the Hillenbrand-Kim deal was done because they had enough hitters and needed to strengthen the pitching? Riiiiight. Ladies and gentlemen, the REAL curse in Boston: poor front office decisions.

Tear down that fucking ballpark, build a new stadium and get some goddamn pitching!

I'm well aware of that, and i think they did the best they could with the #1 pick last year. When he is brought up to the majors and takes a spot in the rotation, they are going to be much better.
But, why they drafetr 2 pitchers this year is mystifying. They desperately need out fielders, especially ones who can hit in the middle of the lineup. Lofton is doing a great job this year, and Sanders is doing well, but neither will be there next year.

It looks like Cleveland has either made a sunningly brilliant aor a stunningly horrid choice.
