...to break up with someone because of their horrible grammar?? I did. Now I feel bad.

Taking in mind that I am a grammar freak...Even mispellings in emails or instant messages turn me off...

Communcation is a big concern to people. I don't think it's to much to ask that you can find a guy who is around your IQ.

It's one thing if it's misspellings compared to speaking. I can see it being a turn off if they sound uneducated but ending it because they made some typos is pretty shallow.

And what do you mean by break up? Didn't you know this before you became BF and GF? If you like him and grammar is your only issue then I don't think it's right, but that's just me.

Arienette and Silera might disagree with me on this one.

Informally, grammar doesn't matter. I would assume that this person didn't simply suffer from typos, as we all make mistakes from time to time.

If someone couldn't speak appropriately in situations that required it, I wouldn't even find them attractive.

Don't feel bad. Bad grammar is a reflection of low intelligence. You simply don't want to be with someone that isn't as smart as you. They'd get boring very quickly.

It ended because of the SPEAKING. I was just giving the typos as an example of how meticulous I am.

I guess "break up" was the wrong phrase to use. We didn't get too serious.

Yeah, it would've been wrong if it was a serious relationship.

I didn't experience the full magnitude of the bad grammar until recently.

Or that AIM Speech trend that i hate with a passion, saying words such as u,2,4,rofl,lmao,neway,nething,stoopid,sup, all that stuff i just cant stand. Its just laziness and itll fuck you up when you try to write a school report or something too. Is it too hard to push two extra keys or replace the wrong letters with the right ones, i understand your trying to be hip, but when i see it on signs like "vote 4 me, 4 your class president" there aint a chance in hell im voting for someone who cant speel for.

They shoudn't. If everyone did, for example, the world would go around thinking I was a pretentious, pedantic, aloof, cocky, overly educated asshole. I'm only half of those things.
