I was shopping the other day and it seems the world of cleaning products has been taken over by "Orange" stuff. Oranges have been around a looooong time, all of a sudden the color is ubiquitous in the cleaner aisles of any supermarket or department store.

we needed cleaning products that didn't make us nearly die when we were cleaning poorly ventilated rooms. and these orange ones don't make my head as dizzy as the lemon ones.

A brief history of Orange Cleaners. Orange has been used for a long time by people looking for a "Natural and Organic" degreaser. The problem was that it was really expensive. Today's "Orange Cleaners" have some orange in them, but are essentially scented chemical cleaners.
I guess the analogy is Naturally flavored orange added to soda. Yes there is a small amount of orange juice, but it is mostly sugar and water.
The wife who is in market research says people like the smell of oranges and "believe" that the cleaners are more natural ( even though they are just as "chemical ridden" as the other stuff. ) The belief that the stuff is somehow "greener" than other cleaners lets the companies charge more for it.
