Junkyard Wars rulz! (or Scrapheap Challenge as it was originally known in jolly ole England). How much more perfect of a show could you get? They get dirty scavenging in a junkyard, and use blowtorches and sledgehammers to build machines from scratch in ten hours.
We get to meet British bikers, NERDS from New England, British surfers (!), military men, all building the coolest machines ever. And the female co-host is quite the tasty biscuit as well.
I wish I was half as mechanically smart as the teams they have competing. They've built trebuchets, hovercraft, steam-powered cars, dragsters, all from junk in a junkyard... This is literally the only tv show that I schedule myself to watch. Any other crap can just disappear, but if I see JW on, I'm stayin.
To cool, and they teach you stuff while building, explaining the principles behind steam power or why putting wheels on a trebuchet gives more oomph to the toss. I shoulda paid more attention in physics class lo these many moons ago.
Kids, you tried your best and you failed. The lesson is: Never try.
