I actually like the idea of annual tournaments (such as the ones we see in Japan), but it just got ridiculous in the WWE. You could literally SMELL the guy they wanted to push, i.e. the guy they wanted to have win the tournament, weeks if not months before the event was to occur.

It was good in the beginning, but by the time the Billy Gunns and Edges of the world won it, it had lost all credibility.

I really liked the tournament format the first 2 years. Three rounds was great. Once it went to only 2 rounds, it lost a lot. I think the biggest mistakes were making Mabel and Billy Gunn win it all.
