Vinnie was in the band when they went unmasked.
But, hands down, I gotta go with Bruce Kulick.

You are forgetting Vinnie's replacement, Mark St. John

....and the current scab in Ace's makeup, that choad Tommy Thayer who used to be in Black N Blue.

KISS wasn't even KISS anymore when Ace left. They were done as far as I am concerned. If it comes down to it though, my favorite replacement was Kulick cause he was a pretty good guitarist. His brother Bob I believe was the first replacement guitarist casue Ace was way too drunk during the Dynasty and Unmasked recordings to even play. Bob also played quite a bit on Creatures. Sometimes I wish I never knew the whole back story of bands cause it just ruins it for me.

I"d rank them:
1. Eric Carr(no question here, the only improvement as replacements go and a better singer for "Beth"
2. Bruce Kulick(had some orginal ideas, and kept them going through thing periods)
3. Vinnie Vincent(total hack, but great name, persona and attitude)

Bruce Kullick by a landslide. Vinnie Vincent was awful. Kullick was a very underrated guitarist. I agree that Eric Carr was the best replacement overall. He was a much better drummer than Peter Criss.

small world...
a guitarist came to my house to jam two Fridays ago, and supposedly he's coming this Friday, man did he kick ass... turns out he was hanging out with his good friend Bruce Kullick the weekend before and he had a few pictures...
the other thing is Bruce plays in Grand Funk Railroad now...
I've heard a little of Bruce in GFR from the GFR website and he sounds good...
BUT he will never replace my one true love, Mark Farner...

I also have to give props to Eric Singer. He is an awesome drummer who was left with tough task of filling Eric Carrs shoes.
