There are so many different products on the market now. Has anybody tried avacor? I heard some good and bad things about avacor I also heard rogaine only grows hair on top of the hair and not in the front. Any good ones?
Kinda makes you think when the #1 rapper is white and the #1 golfer is black

they are all bad. all have good and bad points, usually once you stop using said product the hair thins and you eventually go bald

Generally, IF they work for you, they will prevent further hairloss. Most only work for a fraction of people who use them, and only a small fraction of the people that they work for actually regrow significant amounts of hair.

NO GOOD: The crap you spray on your head
NO GOOD: Any hair growth product "miracle cure" you receive as spam.
GOOD: Some FDA hair regrowth formulas work a bit for some people, but not to the extent the commercials would have you believe. They are more effective in preventing future hair loss than in actually regrowing hair on a bald patch. They can be effective though to some extent so speak to your doctor.
BEST: Minoxodil! (just keep your kids away from it)
In a recent issue of Time Magazine or Popular Science (I don't recall) there was an article about a breakthrough in substantial hair regrowth on bald mice.
No human trials to date.

you should try listening to "the bald truth".. it's a radio show hosted by this consumer advocate guy for hair loss products. it's pretty interesting (i listen to it sometimes even though i have no hair loss problems). if you're in ny, it's on on sunday night from 11pm - 1am on 92.7 fm. they talk about all the different products and doctors and procedures out there. you can also call in and ask questions and stuff. from what i know, he recommends propecia most often, but you might want to check it out. also, there's a website - thebaldtruth.com.

It seems hard to imagine that a show called the "bald truth" isn't an advertising infomercial for some product.

About a year ago the host of that sad show said he ran into Opie and said he had "beautiful, boy hair"
Mad props to Fluff for the sig and C.O.soup for hosting!

It seems hard to imagine that a show called the "bald truth" isn't an advertising infomercial for some product.i know it does, but from what i understand it's actually true. the host is a consumer advocate. he speaks very candidly about which products he endorses, and which he doesnt. the same goes for both doctors and procedures. the main product he's been endorsing for the past five or so years is propecia, and they apparently were not advertising with the show until very recently. he's also involved with some organization called the "international alliance of hair restoration surgeons", which has only accepted a miniscule number of the applicatants, at a great financial loss. etc, etc.
maybe i'm an idiot for believing all of this, but i do. i'm sure there's some way to check out his credentials and reliability somewhere...

I don't believe any of those are very effective. I'd just take it all off.

For being the #1 market, New York radio sucks. Aside from R & F and O & A, there is nothing worth listening to.
Now we have NOTHING!!!

i was under the impression that it is an infomercial set up to sound like a talk show. they play it on WJFK, along with other "miracle drug" infomercials like the one for HGH human growth hormone....this is the one thats supposed to be like the fountain of youth drug. people have been trying to hock this dreck since the dawn of sales, and i've never really believed any of it works. salesmen lie.

avacor isnt bad. the product is basically an herbal pill you take along with a topical minoxidil product. they say that most people will see new hair growth in like three months or something, which will cost you a few dollars - avacor isnt that cheap. but the best thing about the product is its guarantee imo. if you buy three months, you have three months to return the bottles for your money back minus shipping. six months, six month guarantee; 12 months; 12 month guarantee. So if they say it will grow your hair back in 3 months, id try the 6 month supply to give the minoxidil the time it needs to do its thing. if it works for you great, if it doesnt you get your money back (no matter if you send back a bunch of empty bottles at the very end of the guarantee period).
as people have said, it is kind of a product that either will work for you or wont. and like i said, if your losing your hair, a 100% money back guarantee for the possibility of growing your hair back is worth it to me. at least its worth a try.
just my 2 cents
