Surprisingly it makes more sense. Link to the Past is #1. GTA3 comes in at #4.

The whole top 100 games bolies down to the top 10, and IGN's is much better
Doom should not be at the number 2 spot, and Madden 2003?
IGN's top 10 may not be in the correct order, but all the games that need to be there are in it. This doesn't really matter, all these top 100 lists are just switched around versions of EGMs. Who did it first, and did it best.

any list that doesnt put final fantasy 7 as the greatest game ever is flat out wrong, which makes the list bullshit!

too bad you have to either clog your computer with AOL or actually have the magazine in front of you to access the site.
And FF7 was nowhere near the greatest game of all time. Final Fantasy from 7 on became "choose the right commands from a menu and we'll play more of the movie"
Link to the past? I would have thought Ocarina of Time, but ok...
Personally I thought Super Metroid was a better SNES game than LttP...

IMO, FF7 is the greatest Playstation game ever. The story ruled. There was so much to do outside the story (Chocobo Breeding/Racing, Ultima Weapons, etc.) Don't write it off like that. But, that game was THE best gaming experience I have ever had. And there are plenty that agree with me. It deserved its spot in the top 10.
As for the EW, if you pick up the magazine, you can see what the "stars" favorite games are. Its good for some laughs. I HIGHLY doubt Julia Roberts favorite game is Halo.
