Does anyone know if it's possible to change the bitrate on a mp3 to a higher level to make the sound louder?

What I mean is, I have tons of mp3s, but every once in a while I'll get a song that's not as loud as others, so if I make a cd with the song, there's a noticable change in the volume when the song comes on. Is there software that can change the bitrate?

Musicmatch can convert the bit rate, but I don't think it will make the MP3 any louder.

However, if you are listening to your MP3s on the computer on Musicmatch, there is a function where Musicmatch will review all of the MP3s in your music library and equalize the volume on playback.

Volume and bitrate are mutually exclusive.
