View Full Version : Mp3/ Winamp question
Is there any way to make the equalizer programable to each song, that way they all sound the same and they're not all at differnt volume ect. Only cause its a pain in the ass when you have your comp hooked up to your stereo and each song is either higher in bass or trebble and its distorted

I don't believe so. I think it mostly has to do with how the song is recorder or encoded.

in addition, how do I mute the other sounds IE Instant messenger sounds and game sounds from playing while winamp is playing. I never had a probelm using my the older version of winamp but now that its a newer version it kinda blows hearing all those other souns while you're trying to listen to a song

I never have this problem, but then I never upgraded beyond version 2.79, I tried version 3 and it sucked so I went back and have not had any problems since.
It does also depend on how the files are encoded as well though. If you're making your own mp3 files try encoding with the highest bitrate possible. Personally I prefer files in 320 bitrate, I get the best quality with those. I also look for files with the same bitrate on things like Kazaa Lite and I always get good quality without having to touch the equalizer.

its so hard to find 320's though cause I figure 128 is about CD quality and it takes up less space than 320. But yea maybe going back to the older version will do it
