And honest to goodness dinosaur. He bought me a PS2 for my birthday ("Here honey, I asked some 5 year olds in Target which "video game system" I should buy you") and it's fantastic.

But it is rude of me to just spend my days playing FF X and GTA by myself, right?

So I bought him Madden 2002. "It's too complicated. Can I just watch you play?" Fucker. I HATE sports games.

So then I though "Aha! Maybe he will be able to handle the N64" so I set him up with Diddy Kong Racing and MarioKart 64. He plays those in time trial mode because having other characters on the screen is too distracting. (I can still beat all of his best times, by the way)

WELL!! I think I finally found the game for him! Yesterday I bought him the Namco Arcade Classics or whatever the heck its called for PS2 and it comes ith PacMan and Ms Pacman and Galaga and DigDug ("I've never head of digdug!" good grief) and he adores it. "You don't understand, but these games are a real technological marvel! Look! I shot the ships and now I'm DOCKING!")

I feel all cool now. I'm such a great girlfriend.

I have a Sega genesis emulator and an Atari emulator on my work computer. Games from a better, vanished time.

Way to dumb down only one of the greatest stories ever put to print.

I feel the same way as your dinosaur even though I'm not one.

I don't bother with video games because I feel like you shouldn't have to study a book or memorize moves and codes to be decent at one. They don't keep my attention and I'd rather spend my time on something else. But the only game I ever played on PS that I liked was the new Pacman and I kinda got into that.I can also play Tetris for hours so I definitley like the old school games.

And you are a great girlfriend. If he talks as much as he types I'd say you're a saint for being able to stand it. :)

I completely understand where I think the Chairman is coming from as far as video games go. I just despise all of these new-fangled video games becasue they are just TOO real. When it comes to video games, I like to see blocky figures and cartoon characters eating pellets and shooting cherries becasue it is a true escape from reality for me.

I just recently went to GameStop and dropped $65 on a Super Nintendo and 5 games. Ms. Pac-Man, Super Mario World, Mega Man X, Uni-Racers and Gradius III. I have not been this entertained for years.

I also crank up the old Atari 7800 for shits and giggles once in a while. Nothing NOTHING beats the old games.

I LOVE Dig Dug. I NEED Dig Dug!

THANK YOU! Some games I've bought are SO HARD that you'd NEVER find all the shit, so you are just following the step by step directions in a strategy guide. It's like assembling a deck chair.

::snore:: wee wee wee wee boring.

What scares me is that the old Atari system was huge and you had to have the game cartridges. Now it fits into this little controller.

I am, and always will be,in a state of sulky dissatisfaction.
