I know I JUST bitched about Wolverine's Revenge, but now I have to bitch about all games in general.

I just rented Splinter Cell for my Gamecube, and they just decided to FUCK us ALL with the camera angle. It doesn't follow your AT ALL. It stays put, and you always adjust it around your movement. MAN does that SUCK.

I mean I've played games where it's OK, like the Zelda: Windwaker game, but no matter what, there always seems like a time you'rein a corner fighting something and you can't even see it because your camera is looking from some retarded angle.

I am less than impressed with this aspect of out "AMAZING" new line of 3d games. Get your shit together game designers of the world.

I guess it's one of the issues with seeing a "3D" world through a 2D plane. Most Console games seem to have that issue, but you can appreciate when a game works hard on it, because you don't notice it...

That said, I don't remember ever having a problem with camera angle in "Jet Force Gemini" on N64 (one of my favorite games ever) I haven't played Windwaker Yet...

Everquest has a lot of problems, but I've never found a bad camera angle to be one. you can switch to so many diffent views, the only problem would probably come from confusing yourself... (I'm talking about the REAL Everquest, btw, not EQ "Junior" on PS2)

I don't know if it's fair to call it lazy programming, but these companies make so much money on games, they want them shoved out onto shelves as soon as possible, and they've been doing 3D games long enough now (since what, '95, when Mario 64 came out?) that you'd think they'd figure it out by now. I admit though that linear matrix transformations make my head hurt, then again I'm not a game programmer (yet...)

I hated it in the old madden footballs until i think 98 or so........How about the 3D glasses? Has anyone used them? What would be the effects of gaming with 3D glasses under the influence of paint thinner and Viagra? Tuff questions.........

I concur, and I would be willing to ditch a couple of the FMVs they use for a death scene of a character who has appeared in the game once to clear up space for a real camera that can follow my character without getting stuck behind a wall.

Tomb Raider 5 had it close to right, when it faded Lara out if you ran into an area where you were up against a wall, but it doesn't help the forced angles they use to show you something.

Never played Ghost Recon, only Splinter Cell. 1st time ever renting a game like this. I got a little more used to it, but still dislike the whole interface.

Nothing worse than an awful camera angle is awful controls.

In most survival horror games (resident evil, Silent Hill) the characters move so weird and literally takes hours just to master walking them.

At least in some games you can control the camera angle, sports ones never give you the option you want though.

some games have good camera angles, they are called 1st person shooters. other than that, i doubt the camera angles will ever be right
